I have done both and have enjoyed both aspects ebay or other auctions.

What do you like best buy it now (with best offer) or auctions?

I prefer Buy It Now because you can usually find great deals and you don't have to wait for the auction to end.

As a buyer I guess it depends for me. The hope that I might get the auction at a low price or that I can just get it right away.
If I have time I will bid and if I don't I will buy.

Now as a seller I am definitely leaning towards the buy it now just for sanity sake as of lately.
Ebay has been slow I guess because of summer. I am going crazy with this no hits, no watchers, and no prospects.
Complete frustration and worries that I can't make this work. (oh sorry I went off on a tangent)

Well yes I like bin's as of lately too.

As a buyer I like Buy it Now because i don't have to wait. As a seller I always liked auction style. i noticed more and more last second bids because of all of the new bidding software out there. But with Ebay fees being so high...

Depends on what kind of items you're selling. You can do some real sales at different formats for your own items for some time (e.g. 1 or 2 months). Then you can see which one works better for you. Believe it's the best way to determine your sales strategies in a long run.

Hi, if you have rare or cellectible item that you know will sell well put it on auction format as sometimes buyers are willing to pay more than what you expect. I preffer buy it now options on lower profit margine items or on something you have in large quantity that you know will sell but might not do well on auction format. For example I sell polaroid instant cameras which I can get hold off easily, I looked on ebay and saw they are quiet popular and sells between £6.99 - £19.99 easily ( I buy them between £2.00 to £4.00). I sell them for £9.99 (plus £4.59 p&p to UK) and they sell very fast. Thanks.

I prefer buy it now as a former seller, but I like auctions when I am buying because I think you can sometimes get a better deal.
