Hello ladies!

My name is Cara and I live in Colorado
(Boulder-Denver area). I'm a stay at home mom and am working on getting
some online businesses going. My goal is to have, by the end of this
year, several successful income streams online and offline. I'm
interested in a direct sales cosmetics business for one of those income
streams. I cross-posted this to the Jafra forum too. I am researching and I can't decide between Jafra, Mary Kay,
and Arbonne. I know I love Mary Kay and Arbonne products, but I have
never used Jafra. :) To be honest, part of the appeal of a cosmetics business is
because I'm a makeup and skin care freak and it will be lovely to get
great products at a discount. I don't want to just be a personal use
consultant, though. I have some great, creative ideas for building the
business online with internet marketing and attraction marketing
methods. I also can empathize with and appeal to women with exotc skin
tones who have a hard time finding a foundation shade to match their
skin, because I am one of those women, LOL. I am of mixed ancestry, have a medium skin tone and olive undertones. I've yet to find my
perfect match. I absolutely love that Mary Kay has foundations that have olive undertones! I just recently found that out, but haven't gotten to try one yet. Would Mary Kay be a good cosmetics business for online
marketing? Viral marketing is huge and there are lots of people like me searching for Mary Kay products and business opp online. I want to use creative ideas to tap into that. I'm wondering about some pros and cons of Mary Kay vs. Jafra and Arbonne, as a business and products.

Please, feel free to post here or PM me. Thanks! Happy Sunday! :)

Both are good products. Online marketing has limitations set by Corporate in Mary Kay. Person to person works better in MK.

Thanks, I understand. My basic idea for internet marketing is just to attract customers to me that are ready to buy or join. I understand there are limitations to the marketing and I'm prepared to be creative and work around those. :)

Cara and Tootie,
I'm a long time BeautiControl consultant. My honest opinion is that MK is an awesome cosmetics company. They have a wide range of foundation shades and vibrant lip/eye/blush colors. BC is an EXCELLENT skin care company specializing in maintanence, repair, and prevention products customized for skin age. I'm not familiar enough with Arbonne or Jafra to comment on them. If makeup is your thing, then go with MK. But don't look for great success with online marketing.

Thank you for your reply, AnnMa, and I respect your opinion. :) But I will look for success with online attraction marketing; and I know I will be successful.smileys/smiley1.gif

I would like to comment on AnnMa's post about BeautiControl. I think Mary Kay is a great company with good skin care and color products, but BeautiControl has wonderful color products too, especially since they just came out with mineral eye shadows, blushes and lip colors! They also have a great selection of foundation formulasin lots of different shades. I would not market BC as just a skin care company, they have so much more to offer. With that said, I would not market Mary Kay as just a color cosmetics company for they too have so much more to offer.

For online marketingBC isgreat because you have the option of having the company fill the order, therefore, no inventory neccessary.

What is really comes down to is which product line works best for you and the one that you want to share with others! Good Luck with your search. I know you will do great with which ever company you choose!!

Mary Kay also has that option available to certain tiers in the non-pyramid. The only catch is that you must order $1,800 quarterly to qualify for that option.

Hardly makes sense, now, to do that does it since that means that every quarter you are stocking $1,800 worth of wholesale goodies on your shelves while at the same time headquarters is emptying their warehouses fulfilling orders to your customers.

I don't get it; but hey, whatever floats your boat.

Hi Cara,
I have been in MK for 3 years now. Just wondering if you had made a decision? I would love to talk with you but I would rather do it via email or over the phone.

Thanks,
Andie
