Ok, so I'm a long time member of a couple of random message boards that have either classifieds or "work at home/business" forums.
I have posted the FAQs about becoming a distributor and today I posted about the COTM, Sweet Pea.
What are some other ideas do you think would drum up some interest in the products/opportunity without spamming them with "buy this buy this buy this"?

One thing that is great, is to put in your signature line your website address, you can do that when you post in forums and all your emails.
People are curious and will click on it to see what it is !! Good Luck with your business!

The best way is to build relationships with people. If the forum allows you to have a signiture line with your business info like this one does, then be sure to have your info in your siggy line, and profile... then simply talk to people about any topic they are talking about. Join various groups with people you have things in common with... for example, if your a mom, you can join mommy groups. If you enjoy gardening, then join those. Build relationships based on common ground. After you've made friends with people, and they like you they will check out your business in your signiture file without you having to tell them to check out anything. I build a big chunk of my business through social networking online. http://www.wahm.com/forum/smileys/smiley1.gif
Another tip is as you learn, share what you learn. Help people like you see me and others do on here. Helping people brings it's own reward, and positive energy... but it also attracts others to you. You can also write articles, ect... about things you've learned. For example, I have an article that I posted on this forum called, "How to build your business on a shoestring budget" or something to that effect. It's a great article detailing how I bought my fast start pack with very little out of my own pocket, but rather by reinvesting my profits. If you haven't read it yet... go through the threads and find it. It may help you considerbly since you're just starting off.
Hope this helps... Have a great night! http://www.wahm.com/forum/smileys/smiley4.gif

Thanks! Those are precisely the things I've been doing so I think after a time, it will really start to help :) Feels good to know I'm taking the steps that successful distributors have taken :)
