View Full Version : Any Christian CTMH or other company reps?

I already am a full-time telecommuting CWAHM for a Christian company. However, I have been considering adding some side businesses one at a time. I was very interested in Close to My Heart andarep named Deb had contacted me last year, but recently when I emailed her I am getting no response.
I have ran searches for a Christian CTMH rep, but I guess not many want to risk losing secular customers so they do not share their faith on their sites. Does the company forbid you sharing your faith?I am not interested in workingunder anybody who is not sold out for Jesus and will not permit me to share the truth in love with others.
So please speak up if you are a serious Christian (as in Jesus Christ is your Lord and not just yourSavior)in the scrapbooking industry and let me check out your program, even if it is not CTMH. However, please don't contact me if you are lukewarm and just use "Christian" as a label, but don't seriously live your faith daily.
Thank you for your time and may the Lord bless you as you seek His face, Julianne

Frankly, I think many home party plans are saying they are "Christian" based companies.
I am a Christian yet I don't have my faith displayed on my daycare website. I hope you don't alienate Christians who just don't write up their faith on their websites.

Stampin' Up! is a wonderful rubber stamp and scrapbooking company. I've been in it for over 2 years. I do have a web site that I display my business with. This web site is thru the company. I suppose you could display what you want as long as it's not any other company.
Please look and let me know what you think.

Hi Theresa!!!
My point is that I have ran searches galore (and I am excellent at internet search techniques, as I also went to college a couple of years ago for web developing...I just don't have the quiet time in my home with my children to focus on programming) and I cannot find people sharing they are a serious Christian on their Close to My Heart websites or their personal websites as consultants. This concerns me if there is some policy that says you cannot mention your faith by this company first of all.
Because of this, I cannot imagine me working for any company that will not permit me to share my faith. If I have an "about me" section on any website that is not just about business, but covers any personal stuff, it is going to speak about my Lord because it is His purpose I was created to serve, not my own. If I am going to mention my husband and/or my children why would I not mention my Lord when He comes first? If there is nothing personal on the "about me" portion then Iconcur withnot mentioning God.
smileys/smiley19.gif Unfortunately, I will agree with you that many party plans are claiming to be "Christian" companies. I am sure some are sincere, but over the last 30+ years I have seen so many of these use the "Christian" label for their gain, not to glorify God.
I am not here to alienate, but just as it is each person's right to decide if they mention their faith or not, so is it my right not to desire to sign up under anybody who is not bold in their faith and love for Christ. smileys/smiley1.gif
May the Lord bless you as you seek His face, Julianne

Hi Kim!
Thank you for sharing your website with me. I have a couple of questions for you.
1) Do your customers feel the online catalog is user friendly enough for them? Do you get many orders through this medium?
2) Are "parties" in person required to be considered active?
3) How much sales are required to be considered "active?"
Thank you for your time and help.
Blessings to you as you seek His face, Julianne

Julianne,
Here's your answers. And by the way, we have an "about me" page that I believe you can say what you want about your faith.
1) Do your customers feel the online catalog is user friendly enough for them? It's a great way of getting long distance orders. It's a great way for new customers to see if what it's all about, however, it does not substitute our awesome Idea Book & Catalog.
Do you get many orders through this medium? I have been lately and I believe it will only help our business. We've only had it online since Oct. 05.
2) Are "parties" in person required to be considered active? Do you mean...can you have catalog shows and still be considered active? If so, absolutely. You can also have stamp camps, card parties. Can you be a hobby at this - why yes! Stampin' Up! is flexible but does have a few rules about selling their images.
3) How much sales are required to be considered "active?" $300 a quarter.
Let me know if there's any other questions.
Thanks again,
KIM
