I wanted to tell you about a conversation from the call on Monday night. We got into a discussion about books that help us focus on business and motivate us to do what we love best!

My recommended book is: Unstoppable Leaders by Cynthia Kersey.

This book has helped me breakthrough and reach one of my many goals! I highly recommend it!

I have heard the Lemonade Lady books are also really good, but I haven't had time to buy them yet. Anyone else read them? Please share what books motivate you!

OT: I meant to post this earlier in the week, but have been dealing with some post office issues. Seems theydisappear withmy packages instead of delivering them! So I have had a few trips delivering orders to disgruntled clients. All is good because I give them discounts on their next order and little goodies too. I guess I will have to start using UPS!

I have recently finished the book "The Dream Giver" by Bruce Wilkenson. If you have ever had a dream, no matter how big or small, this book will encourage you to follow through. It is full of encouragement and it tells us to leave our comfort zones and dare to pursue our dreams. It's when we meet adversity head on that we are actually reaching our goals. I recommend it to anyone to read!

I'll have to check the other ones you mentioned out too- thanks!!

I agree "The Dream Giver" is a phenomenol book. I feel like it really touches those ladies who want to be successful with any dream.

It helps to reinforce that those who become successful are the ones that don't give up when things are not going so well. We will always have battles and hills to climb, but I have found by taking a quick pity party for myself, and moving on that things ALWAYS get better.

I feel this book is so important that when I become a Director , I will buy this book for everyone on my team.

I went looking for the dream giver and found only the journal! Have either of you used the journal while reading the book?

Dream Giver sounds great! I do have that philosophy about thebusiness already. It would be easy to give up some days. Especially when your whole calendar moves around and into the next month.Or all your bookings disappear. LOL

When I feel low, I go back to the R. Kelly song I Believe I Can Fly. That is such a great song! There is a Poem that I readcalled Don't Quit.

Motivation can come from all different sources! Please continue to share. You don't know who you are helping today in their business or personal life.

Who is getting excited about March? I AM!

Vicki,

That poem Don't Quit, is that about the boy running the race and his Dad is at the finish line.

If so, PLEASE send me that poem. I heard it like 15 years ago and have been looking for it ever since.

Vicki,

My big break through was getting outside my comfort zone.I am a friendly person. I get into conversations all the time. Usually, I scramble to get a scrap of paper to write my name/number on. Now, I hand them my business card and write on the back of it what they are going to email or call me about. This has lead to bookings or orders from just handing out my business card.

My other breakthrough was about getting rid of the junk from the past business. I recruited and never built a team with the other business I am no longer doing. They got the kit for free because I did my job and disappeared. I am not afraid to recruit; but found myself holding back. All that has changed! I have successfully become a Senior Consultant in February!

This book makes you honestly look at yourself and where you want to go. Not only in your business, but your personal life. We all have strengths and weaknesses. I now see what has been holding me back and why I shouldn't let that stop me from reaching my full potential!

I plan on starting the book over again in March.

Tess, my poem is different than the one you are looking for. I will post mine because it has given me the determination to keep going!

"Success is failure turned inside out -

So stick to the fight when you're hardest hit, -

It's when things seem worst that you mustn't quit!"

That is the last line of the poem.

I just finished reading the dream giver last week. It was very good. I'm new to Beauticontrol, I signed up in November and quit my job a month ago to do this full time. I really believe I can make this work, but I'm getting a little discouraged. I guess I just want it to happen overnight. smileys/smiley5.gif

I read a good saying today,

If you merely WISH for something, you wait and HOPE it happens.

WHEREAS....

if you truly WANT something, you go after it until you get it!

I didn't use the journal as I read "The Dream Giver." But there sure is alot of good stuff in that book. I like to take notes from things I read. I have post-its everywhere with motivational sayings on them. one of my favorites is: "Life's problems wouldn't be called 'hurdles' if there wasn't a way to get over them." And then there's, "Don't tell God how big your storm is, tell the storm HOW BIG your God is!!!" Alot of the time I find that if I stop and take the time to analize my situations a little more and try to see the good in what I'm doing, things look a whole lot brighter. When I first began as a consultant, I had so much trouble even getting one booking!!! I found out it was all in my verbage and how I presented MY business to others. My recruitor is the absolute best and she taught me and she still teaches me. It's an amazing journey that you go through just like in "The Dream Giver", and up ahead is your goal. Keep reaching for it because as long as you have it in sight, you can make it !!

God bless everyone!!!

LexiLou: Would you be able to join us on one of our conference calls? We will have one Monday, Feb 27th at night. And one on the 28th during the day. The topic is what did you learn at Leadership conference? I think this is going to be a very exciting topic!

Have a great weekend everyone! I will be in the frozen north (WI) this weekend, but will still check in for the latest! And I do mean frozen!!! LOL burrrrr

I can try to be on the call, just let me know the number and time. I need all the help I can get!smileys/smiley1.gif

I just need to keep moving on this, hopefully I will get some bookings soon. It's hard to get the word out to people around here, everybody seems so busy. I'm not giving up though. I have a spa the 4th of march, hope to have it take off from there! I had an open house last month, invited 34 girls and not one showed up. very discouraging. I also did a demonstration 2 weeks ago at a community center, the director of the center advertised in the paper and only 8 people showed. Did'nt make one sale but booked a spa. lol

At least it gave me some experience. I try to find the good in it, but sometimes it's hard. Well, thanks for letting me blow off steam!
