Hi! I'm currently contemplating joining the Arbonne team, however I have a few questions for those of you already in the business. My family & I just moved to a new state, so I don't know a whole lot of people. We do have some family here, however 2 family members are already doing Arbonne (that's how I heard about it). So basically my family has already decided whether they want to be part of Arbonne or not with the other family members hitting them up. I'm a stay-at-home mom to a 6 mth old so going door to door is out, as I don't have the confidence in doing that anyways. I know I will meet people here eventually, but I don't want to scare off any new friends by them thinking I'm just going to try to sell them Arbonne. I want to make a business out of this, not just sell the products. The technique that my would-be upline has shown to do this is the drop off method (I'm not sure what you all are calling that).
So, I guess my questions are:
1. How do you go about selling your business to a cold market without having to go door to door or doing parties?
2. How do you do the drop off method to people that live out of state? I have several friends where we use to live that I think would be good BB, but how do I get them?
3. How do you talk to your friends &family about Arbonne without scaring them off, thinking thatif they talk to you again you areonly going to try to sell themsomething?
Like I said before I'm a stay-at-home mom, so I can't do a lot of daytime events to meet people unless it involves my daughter. I would just love to get as much info on how to go about building my business from those that have already succeeded in it. My would-be sponsor has just started & is building her business based on the people that she locally knows (as is much of my would-be upline), so she isn't much help in this area.
Thanks!

Hi there! You are definitely looking at the right company at the right time! Here are my answers, others will have some great answers also. I would also encourage you to talk with your upline & have her go upline for anwsers that will help you.
1. Make a list pf the people you come into contact with on a daily basis. Bank tellers, doctors, cashiers, church members, etc. Also make a list of your faily & friends wherever they may be.
2. Depending on the person (& your finances), you can send sample packs or the RE9 set in the mail. I have done both.
3. I share the business & products with everyone. I say up front that it may or may not be for them but I would appreciate them letting me share the details &/or products with them and getting their feedback. I let friends & family know that I need the practice and if they would keep an open mind for possibly someone they know that this would be a good fit for, I would appreciate their support. You can say to them that you don't want to hound them, you are simply looking for referrals so that you don't have to depend on them throughout your business. Also let them know that these prodicts are so wonderful, you wouldn't feel right if you didn't let them try them out.
There are so many benefits to this company, these products, and this business it is difficult to put it in a message board response. Hope this helped a bit. Good luck with your decision!

Hi Teresa! Thanks for responding & the great tips. I went ahead & joined last night even though I am so scared it won't work. I guess I just have to walk by faith that I can pull this off.
Question regarding the samples, when you give those to people do you get as good of as response than with the Re9 set drop off? I think that is what I'm going to have to do in order to get the people I know from out of state. I also thought about getting a good friend that may not be interested in the business or anything just to pass the Re9 set around for me, so I canget other people that way. Have you ever tried that?
Thanks again!

I have recently been trying to gather info. as well. Tell me any of those of you that sell for Arbonne, is it true- to get in to it to really make monye you need to invest in a $2,000.oo pack with the 8 Results kits. The rep I spoke with was very pushy and was hitting me hard to just get an Arbonne credit card and not worry about the 2 grand. This seems steep to me. I thought it would be much cheaper to get involved with a network marketing company. Any advice. I was very diappointed. smileys/smiley19.gif

Denise,
That is totally not true - you don't need to invest that. There is no way I would have started with Arbonne if I was told I had to make that kind of investment. Unfortunately, there are some pushy people out there (in every company) that give the rest of us a bad name.
PM me if you want to talk more.

Congrats momtoone on your decision! Have faith in yourself, our company, & these products. It is not a get rich quick scheme, it requires work but it is sooo doable. Stay in constant contact with your upline, ask all the questions you have so you can get the best information! The longer you are invovled and the more products you try, the stronger your faith will be. WHen you try product after product that does what it says it will do, i.e. clean, moisturize, firm, etc. you can't help but have a strong belief system. I have had people sign up for wholesale accounts from both samples & RE9 sets so I cannot sya one is better than the other. I only have 1 biz builder but she is not active right now due to family issues. I gave her a set to try, but she prefers to use samples as her reach out method.
Denise-I am so sorry you were told this. It is absolutely not necessary to purchase 8 sets. My advice is to determine what you are comfortable with investing and go from there.A good rule of thumb is to invest what will make you nervous enough to be actively working your business but not enough to keep you awake at night. I would talk to the person who you felt was pushy and tell her that the $2000 is not in your comfort zone and go from there. She should be able to help you with other alternatives. It is only $29 to sign up for your account and you can build your business from there. There is also a philosophy in Arbonne that your upline will help you, matching your efforts with theirs. I encourage you to talk with her about this.

Teresa - That rule of thumb you gave "invest what will make you nervous enough to be actively working your business but not enough to keep you awake at night", that is great advice. I may just have to quote you on that with potential biz builders.
Thanks!
Thanks!

LOL...feel free, I picked it up from someone else in our company...one of the best things about this company is the willingness of others to share their info!

Phooey!!! My ERVP started out with very little and was even asking for the catalogues back the first few months! She made it to RVP, not as quick as some others, but she made it. She's looking at NVP soon- which she'll probably reach around her 2 year mark. Do NOT put thousands of dollars on your credit cards if you cannot feel comfortable doing so. And don't let anyone tell you that you HAVE to either- heck all you HAVE to do is plop down $29 for your account! Don't let these pushy people tell you differently.

I totally agree. My team actually does not encourage this.

Hey Denise~
We have been talking over the last several weeks about Arbonne and I want to encourage you to not go with anyone that tells you you need to purchase a huge amount of product to do well in Arbonne! That is merely not the case. And in all honestly, Arbonne is starting to crack the hammer on that type of selling/recruting anyways so I would not join a team that is built on that.
You have my number if you have any questions.

I totally agree with all the great ladies and their remarks above! I joined the wk of christmas- and who has any money left the wk of christmas???I was able to get 4 kits and one for myself as well as a few of the other products to try--
I am in the process now of ordering 4 more- I cant keep them in my hands long enough- as well as stocking up on samples-I wanted to have available to new BBs a couple of sets that would not take away from mine that I use. I send alot of samples back home to family and friends so it is possible to grow your business that way.
But you dont have to buy anything to start with- thats what is so great about this business! Do what is best for you and your family!

mom2one...Congrats! Just wanted to add that the Arbonne University training is incredible and free! It is more than worth the time going through all the topics that they offer, I have learned SO much! Take advantage of this along with the Learn & Burns....these trainingsare just one of the many many things that make Arbonne such a unique and wonderful company!

Mom2one2005,
I absolutely echo the sentiments expressed by the others regarding how much to invest. I'm deeply, deeply disappointed that you got the "hard" sell. To me, that's a case of someone who is more interested in THEIR agenda instead of listening to what YOU want. Boy, does that make me MAD!!!!!
Despite that experience, know that you're joining a wonderful company with an equally wonderful opportunity. Seize the opportunity and good for it with all your heart!
You've gotten some great advice so far and you'll find that this board is very supportive and free with information.
