I know there are a lot of you out there that are direct sales consultants for other candle companies, but how many of you actually make your own candles for your own business? (like me!) And what is your favorite part about candle making/running your own business?

Hi Sherri,
I make my own soy candles. I absolutely love making candles. I find it very relaxing and rewarding.
I am crafty and creative and this is a wonderful outlet for me. Making money for my craft is fun too! smileys/smiley17.gif

Hi Sherri,
I also love making my own Soy candles. My youngest daughter and I will spend an evening and make 20-40 candles for the Farmers Market that we go to sell ours at. I also love the way my home smells after making candles. The fragrance seems to last for days. Once my candles have set, I place them in boxes and pack them up in a corner in my bedroom. So of course, I have a very fragrant room. smileys/smiley1.gif
We experiment on different ideas to decorate our candle jars. So far every idea has been great.

well, as far as the website part, I have no advice (my husband does mine! smileys/smiley2.gif)
But candles! I could talk about candles all day!!smileys/smiley36.gif A good way to start is to poke around your local craft store. (Michael's, AC Moore, JoAnn's) They usually sell all the supplies you would need (jars, wicks, wax, fragrance, dye). Sometimes they have kits and stuff that come with everything all packaged up for you and they come with instructions. There are also web sites that sell kits, too. www.candlecauldron.com (http://www.candlecauldron.com) is a FANTASTIC resource for info on how to make them, too!

Thanks for the compliment! I did that one myself through www.wahmdrive.com (http://www.wahmdrive.com) and I am very happy with it. I believe they have a ten day trial so you can putz around. It was really easy.
