Hello,
I am looking to sell from a cart in the mall. Are reps allowed to do this? If your doing this, can you give me some info... like are you making good sales, sign ups, what to bring, etc?
Thanks
Tracey

Hi Tracey,
I do think we are allowed to do this. I actually called a couple of the malls in my area b/c I also wanted to do this. It was way to expensive for me to do but I do think it is a wonderful way to get the name out there.
Many Blessings,
Natalie

When I was with Mia Bella previously I looked into this as well. The malls here were about 450-600 a month for a kiosk. I am in NJ.
What about a couple of reps in the same areas getting together and doing it?
It might work in favor for everyone.

What a great idea!
I never even thought of that!
I live on an Army base and there is an empty kiosk or 2 at the PX....hmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmm.....you've got my wheels spinning!
Thanks for the idea! AND good luck in your decision.

That is a great idea! I'm sure it would be OK, because we're allowed to
sell at flea markets & craft fairs. Good luck in your decision.
Keep us posted. Everyone here is very helpful, so feel free to post any
questions at all.

I think it would be as long as you are using approved signage for your kiosk. I would love to do it here, we have 2 malls but the rent is OUTRAGEOUS on the kiosk here, I am talking over 1000.00 a month :*(

Frances- same thing here with the high prices.. A kiosk in one of the
local malls is $1600 per month, and you must do a minimum of 3
months. Crazy!
I am thinking about trying a table at our farmers market this spring,
which is HUGE- it wraps all the way around the capitol (I'm in Madison,
WI) I think our candles AND our bath products would be a hit. I'll just
have to condition myself to get up at 4 a.m. to get everything ready.
OUCH!smileys/smiley18.gif smileys/smiley36.gif
Does anyone else have experience with farmer's markets? Please share
your experiences!

Are you sure your asking about the same thing? I found out that there is a different. A kiosk is a display model.... On the site for the mall I seen a kiosk as a model of the new hospital in the area.... But a specialty cart, is where you sell your products.
Maybe your getting quoted the wrong prices?? I have to return the call to the lady to find out the difference in prices. I will let you know.

The malls here have kiosk only and when you go to their site or call them, they are all they rent out. I worked in both of the malls different times and knew the people who ran some of them, and 1 guy was paying over 2000 a month for his at xmas time. Its insane, any propery by CBL Mall is HIGH HIGH HIGH!

You talk about EXPENSIVE! Out here in "Silly-Corn" Valley (San Jose) the price is astronomical for just a cart!
Here's part of the email I got from the Specialty Leasing Manager today from the Great Mall of Milpitas (about 7 miles from Downtown San Jose:
"Thank you for you inquiry and we could really use a nice candle retailer at the Mall. There isn’t even one!
You may want to start with a cart as they are less expensive than doing a kiosk. Then, hopfefully move up to a kiosk as business builds.
I have an area that would be great for a cart and that is 2200.00/mo. The holiday months of Nov/Dec are much higher at 6000.00/mo. There is a 3 month minimum and one month security deposit, plus 750.00 registration fee (includes basic cost for visual merchandiser to setup displays).
Please let me know when would be a good time to come in and discuss further?"
Thanks,
Julie
After reading that, I think I'll stick to word of mouth and Flea Markets!!!!!

Just a thought:smileys/smiley2.gif Everyone shouldcheck their current mall first, before deciding it is too expensive. The reason I say this is that our mall does not charge half that amount and I know that they do rent by the weekend or by the week also. Double check your area, it may not be as expensive as the above areas.
You may pay a few hundred a month, but you only need to sella few a day to break even. You may be selling ahundred a day smileys/smiley1.gif! Plus you could share with someone so you have more free time and pay only half the cost. Think of all the exposure it would give you.
Good Luck!

I checked all of the 20 (yes TWENTY!) major shopping malls around this area and the outskirts and they all want about the same as the one I mentioned earlier.
I almost forgot there is a Arts and Crafts Festival in Gilroy (the Garlic Capitol of the World! smileys/smiley4.gif).I'm gonna try that one out.
I just hope people can smell the candles among all that GARLIC!smileys/smiley36.gif Edited by: abbysmom
