Yes its true. Here is a copy of the email that was posted on the backoffice:

May 7, 2009<?:namespace prefix = o ns = "urn:schemas-microsoft-com:office:office" />

To all Seriesse Independent Consultants,

It comes with much sadness and great disappointment that I must report to you that Seriesse International has reached the painful decision to cease operations as of May 10, 2009.

While I know that this decision may come as a shock to many of you, please know that it was not made easily or without much deliberation. Unfortunately, as many of you have experienced in your own efforts to grow your business, the state of the economy has limited your sales and our options to grow Seriesse into a sustainable and profitable business.

The following is what you can expect to happen:

-Your Consultant Agreement will be terminated as of May 10, 2009
-Your Consultant BackOffice and website will remain available until then
-April commissions will be paid on schedule
-May commissions will be calculated and paid through May 10
-Weekly fast start bonuses will be paid as scheduled
-New Consultant Welcome Kits for the past 30 days will be refunded
-Consultant renewal fees for the past 30 days will be refunded
-Premium back office renewals for the past 30 days will be refunded
-We will be unable to accept product returns
-1099’s and W-2’s will be issued at the end of 2009

Please refer to www.seriesse.com (http://www.seriesse.com/) for further updates and how to continue getting our products while they last.

Whether you joined us yesterday or in March 2007, we thank you for being a part of Seriesse International and wish you the best of luck in the future.

Sincerely,

Bill Lovell
Seriesse International

I'm so glad that I started with another company awhile ago. I feel so bad for the ladies that were doing Seriesse full-time and had put a lot of money into it.

I was on a conference call last night and was told that no one (employees that is) knew about them closing until they showed up for work yesterday and were let go.

Awwwww.

Im sorry for the Sieriesse gals!

There is one gal here that used the products for many many manyyears before they went Direct sales, so she was naturally excited that she could now make money with her favorite skin care products!

Im sorry! I thought that they were going to do well. http://www.wahm.com/forum/smileys/smiley6.gifI liked their step by step demovideos that they had on all their products.

All the best to the Seriesse girls. They were ALWAYS very friendly and supportive here!

Gosh....

I'm sorry to hear this. ... And this one surprises me. Of many of the companies out there, I would have expected this one to change ownership and go through a revival instead of just closing.

Wishing the Seriesse gals the best...

I just learned about this a few minutes ago. I am sorry to hear of this as well.

All the best to the reps as you move through this.

A great quote to remember is "When God closes a door he opens a window" and I like to add "but he never told us we'd sometime have to walk thru fire to get there!"

I was so sad to hear about the closing of Seriesse. I hope the consultants who have been working so hard to build a business will find a new home somewhere.

Isn't it fantastic that there's dozens of doors open out there??? .... smileys/smiley23.gif .... And I realize it's a little more difficult for the gals that have product on the shelf, etc. It's harder to make a move, financial repercussions, etc.

These last minute closures are kind of inexcusable, IMO. It's interesting that some companies give the courtesy of ramping down before closing, and others just don't seem to give the consultants the respect that I think they deserve.

This still kind of speaks to my attitude that we are just glorified customers to these companies.... I digress.

Clients will buy from us from our new vendor, for the most part. This is especially true when we market ourselves more than the products we rep. JMO on that. smileys/smiley1.gif

My salon days change my perception on this sort of thing. smileys/smiley9.gif If a client was buying from a salon, and the salon changes lines - rarely does a salon lose a client in the change. The client trusts their professional and the client usually moves easily to the new product. If we do our business right, the same holds true for us.

This is just a reminder that it's good to work with clients and not overly cheer lead the product you're working with. If the clients are happy with us and our service, the product is secondary (providing we are careful about the product lines we carry, that is!)

I know the "stall" that many busy consultants hit when this happens is a real pain in the butt.. but it's great that there are so many options out there and that the internet makes it easy to find a new company quickly.

So just change your supplier, girls, move your downlines before they scatter if at all possible... and keep your clients happy.

I am so so sorry. I know that so many had been working their hearts out.

I am wishing you well, and PLEASE do not give up you CAN take all you have gained and transfer that to a company that may be a better fit and on who will be here for you in the long run.

Blessings over all who are injured by this.

wow, I'm so surprised too. I wouldnt have thought Seriesse.but then again, I didnt think most of the other direct sales companies that shut down this last year or 2 would......so what do I know?

just makes me more grateful to be with a debt free and growing company .

Times are tough
Wahms are tougher!

Best wishes to all the former Seriesse reps.....things often happne for a reason and this may open the door for a better opp, as stated above.

Hey Deb.....

The problem is that "debt free and growing" has got nothing to do with it.

Body Shop is owned by L'Oreal... no money problems there... it didn't shut down because of lack of growth or money.

By what I've heard, Seriesse wasn't a money issue, either. With the great start they had along with celebrity notoriety (that some people fawn all over... it does nothing for me)... they still chose to not even put the company up for sale (it seems).

In the end, as I say rather often, these companies are nothing more than suppliers... and we're nothing more that glorified customers. So when the poop hits the fan, IMO, it's a good thing to have positioned ourselves to be building *our* business.. and not just being bimbo cheerleaders for a company that might go up in smoke or that might go through some ownership/management change that rocks the boat.

I've seen lots of companies either go down or make such significant changes that the business/product/sales methods are not what consultants originally signed up for. So ... this is just my opinion based on what I've seen....

This could happen to any of us.... and even more so for any of us that has chosen to work with a company that is not one of the major giants. The smaller the company... the larger the risk of major stuff happening.

IMO.

I hope that makes sense.

Wow....I have to say "Thank you!" to all of you for the well wishes from all of us here in the Seriesse folder. The closing of Seriesse came to a shock for all of us consultants. This was my first venture into network marketing and I could not have picked a better company to represent. I will always love the time I spent with Seriesse and I do not regret it for one second. I was able to meet some wonderful people and make lots of new friends. It was a memorable journey and chapter in my life. I will miss it...but as they say, "When one door closes, another door opens." or "Life goes on." and so on and so forth......http://www.wahm.com/forum/smileys/smiley14.gif

Thanks to all!!!
