Has anyone ever tried those mailing tubes to send votives? The boxes I get from the post office seem to be pretty much oversized. The ones I've seen are from places such as:

Anyone use something like these before? Thoughts or suggestions?

I'm still curious though if anyone has had any success with the tubes though. I do like the boxes shown above for sure and and also have been looking for something smaller- yet sturdy enough for mailing (not having to package them inside another box for mailing).

I meant to add earlier and forgot. I think the tubes are a great idea! But is the price higher for the tubes and shipping them?
How sturdy are they? If a box gets thrown on them, will they hold up? I worry about the votives getting banged up, even with them being wrapped and/or peanuts and such.
I don't know, that's why I am asking.

Me too! That's why I was hoping to hear if anyone's tried them before. The ones that are12" long doesn't seem like it would be too bad... if they are sturdy enough to send - and if they also work for priority shipping - actually I believe they would, USPS has triangulartubes as well, just bigger, for Priority Mail.

Hi Sandy!
I haven't used the tubes- but I've had success so far just using the bubble
mailers. So far, they are the most cost-effective method of mailing that
I've found.
When I mail out jars, I use the shoebox sized flat rate Priority Mail boxes.
($8.10) You can fit 3-4 jars with room for other items too- I like using the
flat rate because there is no guess work and no need to weigh a package
before quoting a shipping price to a customer.
Happy Valentines Week, Everyone!

well, I dont mail too many jars. Most of my customers are local, but I reuse our COTM boxes. I save mine every month and if i get an order, I can fit at least 2 jars in it.
So, I guess you could say i am a "recycler". Hey, I am saving the life of a poor little tree!! smileys/smiley36.gif
