Is anyone in our little world here working as an Amazon Mechanical Turk? If so can you please give me some insight on the process. I have signed up and I am finding that a lot of the HITS that I qualify for are for very strange request. I am just trying to find out information from anyone who has firsthand experience with this.

Thanks in advance for your comments.

I've toyed with it but the pay is incredibly low. My best tip, if you want to pursue it, is check the hits often - the good ones go fast!

I've done it some, but they don't pay very well. Some of the things take a really long time, like the transcription stuff and only pay like $2.00.smileys/smiley5.gif

Yea, the most I made thus far was $97.00 its okay, boring and time consuming .. you get 5 cent here and there. it adds up fast, just keep doing it & your loot will add up.

Also I did take a hit for a transcribing job...the sound was HORRIBLE! Not worth it at all so I had to return it. Has anyone else had any experience with the transcription jobs and problems with the sound?

Oh yeah, the transcription jobs are stupid. They're on there just so they don't have to pay much to someone to do all the work.

Newbie here!

I just found Mechanical Turk and did a few HITS and made $2.44 so far. Not a lot, but I need every penny I can get, and hey, that's two loaves of bread for me!

I've been doing MTurk for a while now. No, the HITS don't pay a lot, but after you spend some time there, you get to know which ones you can do quickly with little chance of rejection. I made enough to seriously help out with Christmas last year. For more info on working MTurk, go here:
