Hi, today is my first day as a member, though I have been checking the site out for awhile. Something that I have noticed, is alot of the work at home adds that are on the website, are scams. I haven't found one yet that is not asking for me to send a substantial amount of money. Please don't get me wrong, I think the website is a great idea, and I'm sure helps alot of people out, but don't you think that those adds shouldn't be aloud to post on this particular website? Just a thought. I am defenately at a point in my life (four years of searching for a work at home job) Where I need to do something. I can't afford daycare, and my husband and I are in a position where I need to do something. Anybody who is in need of people in most any job area, please let me know!!!! Thank you

Could you please PM me the ads that you're seeing that are asking for substantial amounts of money? Are they Google ads or....?

I'm not too sure what PM is, I'm sorry. Not google, one is on the home page, far right just under the google search, it says "work from home and get paid for life", another on home page again, is on the bottom, in blue, "Top 3 work from hom jobs" it's makemoneywebsitereviews.com. Maybe I'm going about it wrong, or just too skeptical, being jipped out of money from these so called "great work from home" sites. Didn't mean to sound judgemental or be a pain... but thank you for re-posting. Any ideas on what is a good one for first timers??

Oh, okay.

The one under the Google Search feature is an information-based product (looks to be about affiliate programs, but I just scanned it, so not totally sure). It's not a job, it's a product, so yes, that will cost money.

I am not seeing the "Top 3 WFH Jobs" ad, but since you said it's at the bottom and in blue, that's more than likely a Google Ad.

No one should ever ask you to pay money for a JOB. For a business or an informational product, yes, there will be money involved.

If you're looking for a job, you can check out our list of jobs here: http://www.wahm.com/jobs.html. They're updated every day. Also, please check out our Telecommuting Moms folder located here: http://www.wahm.com/forum/forum_topics.asp?FID=4 There are tons of job leads listed in the TM folder and an awesome group of work-at-home moms (and some dads) who hang out there.

Hope this helps! smileys/smiley1.gif

Oh now I understand... Wow, didn't realize I was in the dark, as much as I am!!!! So much to learn!!!! lol I guess I was just too interested in making money quick, and not researching like I should have been. It is sooo nice being able to talk to other people who have been in the same boat as me at one point. It really helps out my hopes of being able to work from home. Thank you so much, I'm going to check the forum right now ; )

The best place to ask would be our Telecommuting Moms folder located here: http://www.wahm.com/forum/forum_topics.asp?FID=4

rachygorham Hi

I too have been through the scams, I know how dispondent one can get. I am now doing the Home cash course with Mackenzie Lee. She is a genuine family girl that has made it. It started with $50 fee, but remember they do not tell you about the upselling. In all I have paid out for the domain name, hosting, and traffic. In all about $150. The website is free as an affiliate, which is the way to start in my opinion for a newbie. The admin and back-up from all the parties is fairly fast and helpful. I am generating a little and as I learn it will become easier. Igot back my investment within days. See what you think, go to BESTWORKATHOMEPRODUCTS.ORG. Keep plugging away and keep your goals in sight continually. Also Erics tips is a useful tool. he gives you lessons, about 39 from memory and his advice is free. Just register. Hope all goes well for you.

Another note too is if you are searching on the web for jobs that you can do from home, you must use the keyword "telecommuting". If you use "work at home jobs" or any other combination, you are likely to get these kind of results where the jobs are not legit. And yes, the job listings on this forum are great jobs to look through. I'm always checking out their listing. It's one of the best I've seen so far. As a matter of fact it is right here that I found my current job.

Doing a search on google is another way to find out about scams or scam.com, snopes.com could help give you some insight.

This little e-book (free download) (http://www.howtoinvestigateahomebusiness.com) was written by a member of this forum to help other members to learn how to tell what's a legitimate business/job and what's not.

All are welcome to download it.

There's nothing commercial/affiliate there; it's entirely independent and not linked to any specific opportunity/job at all.

Many members here have found it very helpful.

Don't worry Rachel,

When I was starting out on the internet, I thought the same exact thing. I think it was on scams.com (http://www.scams.com), I couldn't believe all the advertisements on a site against scams LOL!

The ad on your site "As seen on ....." and it lists several news channels, is a double scam. I fell for it and am still hoping I have contacted the other scammers my personal information was given to by these whotsits. I'm not entirely certain I will be able to get my money back from all of them.
Google does not pay anyone to post websites. This person is using the Google name illegally which is really unfortunate.
I am brand new at all this and am really hoping I don't make any more mistakes. I sincerely hope no one else falls for this.
Thank you.
