Without looking thru all the folders, I can't find the one from a couple of days ago about the "Court Researchers" needed............I don't think it was JellyBean Services because this one posting said the a laptop was NOT required. Can anyone help?

thanks

It may say laptop not required but if you don't have a laptop, then it's going to require you to do double the work for the same pay. You'll handwrite the records at the courthouse on a piece of paper, then you'll come home and type it onto a spreadsheet or into their data entry program.
When being paid per record, this will severely cut down the rate you will earn over all. This is why Jellybean Services requires a laptop. We can hire anyone without a laptop, but it really ends up making it not worth the individual's time because writing takes so long. Plus once you're done, having to take it home and type it in, I wouldn't even do that. Although, I wouldn't do that much writing even if I was being paid $18/hr, my hand would fall off!

I applied for two companies one was back in Dec and one a couple weeks ago. so basically you don't hear anything back if you don't get the position? im not sure if my information was recieved.

I can't speak for everyone else, but with JBS, we get so many applications sometimes, it's just darn near impossible to e-mail EVERYONE. Plus projects come up randomly at times, researchers come and go, some add locations, so there is a constant change. If we were to e-mail someone and say nothing available, and a week later something comes up in their area, we've already told them no.

However, that's why JBS has a job board. You can see instantly if there is a need in your county, no need to wait for someone to e-mail you a list of availability!

You can also follow up on your application in a couple weeks if you haven't heard from someone and your county is listed as available on our job board. That's how we do things at JBS. We're very "user friendly" and don't make you wait for us to respond to tell you what we have available, nor do we keep a outdated availibility list that's been posted since 2007!

Our job board is updated every week and has over 14,000 available openings currently.

Thank you for the response. my county was available i applied in Dec and then re-applied and heard nothing. i wasn't sure if i was lost in the shuffle. if someones county is not available i would not expect to get a e-mail like you said with all the applications you get there is no way to respond to everyone.

Where at did you apply for? We've had some weird things happening lately, we got clients popping up left and right. Just got a new admin to handle 3 brand new accounts and I'm working two brand new accounts too. It's nuts!

I think I remember Sherburne county. I've been up there about 4 times doing court research. Unlike the other companies, I stay very active and involved with court research, just like our court researchers. Minnesota is one of my favorite places, I stay in Burnsville when I go up there! Last time I was there, I ended up working on a television set, we were doing a biography on a local famous wrestler that lives in the area. It was aired on Spike TV.

I do need someone in Sherburne. I can't remember if that's the one thats NW of Mlps or SW by Burnsville. I always stay at Prime Rate, they got free hot cocoa 24 hrs/day! They also have this one motel room, it's crazy, it sleeps 16 people! I saw in there one day when someone was having a party, there was 8 queen size beds!

Overlooking your application could have just been a fluke. It happens sometimes. Send me an e-mail and I'll get you through our steps.
