I was just printing out newsletters for my team and my printer suddenly stopped working. (Is it Monday??) http://www.wahm.com/forum/smileys/smiley5.gif

Anyway, I use my printer for my DS business and also limited printing of digital pictures.

Do any of you have a printer suggestion? I don't need any "extras" like a fax..but a copier might come in handy.

Any thoughts?

Traci, first you need to know what you need - plain printer/copier or laser? Color or black/white? Will you need a scanner? You already know you don't need a fax.

Then just do some online shopping. There is a site called eopinions.com that hasgreat consumer reviews on just about anything which might help. I have always gotten HP printers/copiers, and like them a lot, but find the ink tobe ridiculouslyexpensive. I have had Lexmark, as well, and did NOT like it at all.

So there's my 2 cents for you. Good luck!!

we found a laserjet on sale it's an okidata and I love it,it's color and does an
awesome job with flyers etc. A laserjet will be a little more expensive up
front, but in the long run cheaper...also if you have an HP product and have
a tech issue you can't figure out, let me know...I ll have my hubby call and
try to troubleshoot it for you, he used to work at HP doing customer support
for printers!

Traci,

I have a Cannon printer, which I like, but I defintely have issues with
it. The ink cartridges can be hard to find(my printer has the 4
separate ink colors, instead of one multi color cartridge and one
black). It is a nice option to just refill the color you need,
though(especially when you go through as much yellow as we dosmileys/smiley36.gif).
Another problem with it is that most stores will not exchange the empty
Cannon cartridges for paper or $ off, like they do with other ink
cartridges. Just things to think about when you are shopping!

I have a Dell 962 All In One and absolutely love it. It does everything I could ever want a printer to do, scan, copy and print along with photos of all sizes (4x6 photo paper or full size photo's)I did need a fax machine for consultant agreements and such but I did not want a fax that was all by itself. This one has a built in fax but it's not one that runs through the computer where you have to scan in and dial through the computer. It can run as a fax on it's own and it's all right here by my laptop so I'm not running all over the house to do things. I have it running off my regular phone line and if someone needs to fax me they just call first and I turn my answering machine off and they call the same number back to send the fax.

If you are in Direct Sales and having to fax in consultant contracts for new team members I would definitely get one that has a built in fax wether you need it right off the bat or not. My printer was over $200 when I bought it but I think it's alot cheaper now. Just go to Dell.com and search for the 962 AIO. The only drawback is having to buy ink directly from dell. But I've found it to be cheaper than any other ink I've bought for my old printers at Wal-Mart.

Just my input. Hope you find a wonderful one!! God Bless!

Hi Traci,

Before you make your final choice about a printer, be sure to check out the cost of replacement ink cartriges. There isa huge difference in the cost for the cartriges for various brands/models. Many printer manufacturers will actually take a loss on the printer itself and thenmake their money on the ink. So look at the cost of the cartrige itself as well as the estimates from the manufacturer about how many pages you can print per cartrige so that you'll have an idea of what's going to be most cost effective for you in the long run. Just something to think about. Good luck in your search!

Blessings,
