Hello everyone!
My name is Christina and I own my own invitation company. I design invitations for all occasions as well as thank you cards, birth notices and the like.
My business has been good to me but I am looking to branch out more and earn some more sales. Here is my idea for all of you in the event planning business:
I am willing to offer up to 15% commission on all sales generated by your company. In order to promote my business, I will send you a binder that contains samples of my work for you to show off to interested clients. You will have the client fill out all of the paperwork and mail it to me. On the paperwork there will be a unique code that links the sale to you and all commissions will be paid based upon that code.
Commissions will be paid once a month and the commission is on the total sale (less tax where applicable) not on my profit. This allows you to earn more commission on each sale.
I do charge a $50 deposit for each binder. The reason I charge the $50 is because I put a lot of work into creating my samples and I want to make sure you are serious about selling the invitations. I realize this may sound shady but here is my promise to you: the deposit will be refunded to you PROMPTLY in one of two ways -- after you sell $500 worth of invitations/notices (very easy to do) or when you return the binder full of samples to me.
In the past I have lent out my binders only to have them disappear, this is my reason for the $50 deposit, I am simply trying to protect my hard work. To safeguard your money, I execute a contract between you and I that states the terms of the deposit and how to receive your prompt refund. I find that it is easier to sell the invitations when you have the samples right in front of you as opposed to looking at them on a computer screen.
I will be posting my new website up within the next two weeks and will post the link to those of you who wish to sell only through the website.
If you have any questions or concerns, please feel free to PM me as I am glad to respond to everyone.
Thanks for looking smileys/smiley1.gif
