I just posted this info for someone else but it totally applies to what you're doing:

Check out www.SpecialEvents.com and bizbash.com - subscribe to their
magazines. You'll also want to check out lots of event planning blogs
for ideas: www.MixMingleGlow.com is a great one and so is
www.HostessBlog.com. Have you checked out any industry events like
through ISES, MPI, ABC, NACE, etc? There are so many great ones in L.A.
you're going to have no problem finding a ton of resources!

Good luck!

I think that your propositions should be rather unique to fns clients. In our area there are a lot of party planners It seems that more than children:)

I've been thinking about starting a children's birthday party biz too. If I am able to go through with it, I think that I am going to start by offering face painting and magic tricks. There are a ton of magic tricks that you can buy that aren't very hard to learn.

I would check out other websites to see what they offer and then try to come up with something more unique. Maybe offer to do "custom" parties. I am trying to find something with Peek-a-Boo for my son's 1st birthday and can't find it anywhere! If you do start a website, maybe add a suggestions box so that you can see what people really are looking for on your site. Good Luck!

I tried to start a teddy bear stuffing business! So much more inexpensive than signing up with one of the popularv companies out there. I had a few parties but then it stopped! I am terrible at sales I guess. I did all the brochures, and car magnets and bla bla! I love the idea of the childrens party businesses but here is my question? Who really has the money to offer that to there child in this kind of economy? I think its back to pin the tail on the donkey and heres your 3.00 per kid party favour bag! Or even just have the family and a few close friends over for cake! No atter what home business I think about starting...I cant get past the whos got money for that theory!
