Greetings!! You asked for tips, so I'll give you 1 or 2-smileys/smiley1.gifI have been in the party plan business for over 10 years now. I was always told(1 of the fun parts) to thoroughly familiarize yourself with your kit once it arrives. KNow your Products, Label items with Item #'s, know prices, etc. I'm sure you get the idea on that one-2. Take time to read your manual thoroughly, not every designer or consultant does this- this helps you to familiarize yourself with your companies guidelines, party theme ideas, products & more!! Besides there are lots of useful tips in the manual. Good Luck & God Bless-

Hi Holly!

Congratulations on your new biz! I love your signature, especially the buzz part!smileys/smiley36.gif

The best business advice I'vereceived is to never give up! Keep your head down, and your eye on the prize!

It's also important to be a student of the business. www.danijohnson.com (http://www.danijohnson.com) has some great free training on her conference calls that have really helped me stay focused. I highly recommend tuning in to her!

You are going to do great!

I love Rosalee's advice because this is a fabulous starting point.

Have you hosted a party or been to a party before? If not, speak with your leader about possibly attending one with her (or someone) because that will also give you a really good perspective of how to run a party. Additionally, talk with your leader extensively about things such as effective hostess coaching, bookings, etc. Your leader is your success partner and will (or at least should) be willing to work very closely with you. Don't hesitate to ask her questions as that will greatly increase your learning curve.

My best advice for you is Promote yourself tell everyone about the business!

I've been getting this question a lot lately. Here is why I am successful:

Consistancy! I don't care how much you do or how little, if you are consistant, things will happen. Someone who does 6 parties one month and 2 the next will not see much growth. Someone who does 4 parties consistantly will. Make x amount of calls a day. Do x amount of parties. Meet x amount of people.

And the phone! Pick it up! AND DIAL. smileys/smiley36.gifLooking at it, thinking about calling someone and listening to a dial tone will not make you money.

Best of luck!

Debbie

Have you hosted a party or been to a party before? Yes, I used to be with AtHome America. I didn't really have the determination to make it work.

Call who?Edited by: hbarbre

I would say call everyone! Let them know you started a new business and you are excited to share it with them. Make your list of 100 people, just like you might have with AHA. Start at the top and work your way down.

I have had a previous home business as well. For me, the difference between success in that biz and the one I'm in now is this: get over your fears and work outside of yourbox. It might be scarey at first, but it's something you're going to have to do. Face your fears. If you weren't good at asking people to have a party, just start doing it. The more you do it, the easier it gets. Same goes with recruiting.

Why do you think you weren't successful with your other business? Look at those issues and correct them now with Slumber Parties.

Get in the mindset of helping others and they will appreciate you showing them your business. You are not asking them for favors to host parties, order products, etc.. You are offering them the opportunity to get free and discounted products. They will thank you and you will thank them! :)

I hope this helps Holly! You CAN do it!!! Good luck to you!

Thanks Steff. I have made a committment to finish everything I start in 2006. So, I just took off a HUGE bite, and now it's time to chew. LOL.

I am so excited, but don't know anyone in my area. I am going to post fliers this afternoon. They turned out AWESOME!!!

My sponsor is great. She keeps reminding me that she didn't get to $8000 a month (bring home, BTW) overnight. smileys/smiley2.gif

Slow and steady...I just need to get going!

I had this conversation with one of my team members today!

1 - Set your goal...How many parties do you want for Feburary/March?

2 - Make your list of EVERYONE you know and CALL them to share your excitment. While not everyone will want to buy or host from you, if you don't tell them about your new business they can't say yes! Think of it this way...

If you just spent $10,000 and opened a store front on Main street in your town, you'd be calling everyone you know telling them about it...

Well...do the same thing for your biz!

Make 5 calls tomorrow! You can do it! GO GO GO GO

Let us know how it goes.

2 - more if possible, but I am still getting over my fear of talking to people. However, I did talk to the girl at the grocery store last night! =)

This has been my biggest setback - I live in a city with a MILLION people and I don't know ANYONE. I am not exaggerating...I just moved here. I have talked to a few gals at work, but I work with mostly men. (Army) So, I gave them cards and catalogs to give to their wives...other than that...I have to hit the pavement.
