I applied to Lionbridge on Monday for the Internet Assessor position. Today I got an email titled "Registration Confirmation," giving me information for logging into the site and instructions to continue and then submit my application. However, when I am viewing my application, it appears that it's already been submitted and there are no additional steps for me to take http://www.wahm.com/forum/smileys/smiley5.gifThe email address it came from appears to have been auto-generated, because the address is noreply@....
Has anyone experienced this also? Any tips or advice? Thanks so much!

I applied back on Feb. 11 and yes, this is just an auto-generated email basically saying that they have your application and they are processing it. There is nothing else you need to do on your end unless you want to log back into the system and add something else to your app. or you want to withdraw your application.

Thank you so much - I was really puzzled by that!

Would you mind telling me, are you currently working for them? If so, how do you like it?

Anyone know what the pay is? Is it hourly?

No, I am not working for them. I submitted my app. back on the 11th, but haven't heard anything since then. I checked online and it says my application is still in the "Process" stage, whatever that means. I'll keep my fingers crossed, for both me and you!

I was in "Process" for about six weeks, then finally I got a response that says they don't hire in my state, but they'd like to keep my application on file. I guess they only hire in a few states. Hope yours is one of them!!

I applied on Feb 2 and just got hired today! I can't talk much about the application process and pay due to signing a nda but the pay is good. I will start next week. It is true that they only hire in certain states. I am not sure which ones they are but they will let you know eventually about your status.

Did you have to take a test before you were hired? And when did they first respond back to your application after you submitted it on the 2nd of February? Just trying to figure out the whole process.

Yes. There were some tests I had to take. I think it took a few days or maybe even a whole week before they responded back to my application.

Put my app. in on the 11th but have not heard anything yet, so I'll keep hoping and praying and BTW, congratulations to you! smileys/smiley4.gif

Did you try to open it these ways?: Copy and paste it, right click and say open, or try using IE?

Maybe it will work that way.

Try using Firefox. I guarantee they're gonna want you to use it anyhow.

Just downloaded Firefox and tried to open it with that application...no luck though. Oh well, hopefully, I hear back from Lionbridge soon.

I have a question about Lionbridge in general. I received an invitation to do their "screen test" about a month ago and tried to complete it, but my main computer I use is a Mac and it seems like they want you to work on a PC. I do have a small (mini) laptop that is a PC, but they also want you to have Microsoft Office on the PC as well, which I don't have, and I know that costs a couple of hundred bucks. So basically, if you work with a Mac computer, are you basically out of luck? Obviously, I couldn't complete the test like they wanted. On the Lionbridge job description, I didn't see anything at the time that said you needed a PC only, but maybe I didn't look in the right place. This was for the Internet Judge position.

I also have a mini laptop that I work on. It has MS Office though. Maybe I'll try to pull up the docs on my desktop computer later this evening and see what happens.

I'm just curious how long ago you put in your initial application to Lionbridge. I applied just about 2 weeks ago I think, and I have heard mixed answers about how long they take to contact potential candidates. Thanks!

if you have an intel mac you can either use parallels to run windows or boot into windows. i have mine setup so my parallels partition is also my bootcamp partition so i can access it either way. you can also run openoffice which should handle any ms word docs fine (why pay $500 for ms office apps when it's free???)

Thank you for answering. Unfortunately, the Mac I have is a Mac OSX operating system, but is not the Intel version. Of course, the Intel Mac came out within 6 months after buying this one, but what can you do. Virtual PC is installed on this computer, but it is SOOOOO slow, it's not even worth the time. If I want to work w/ Lionbridge, I may just have to break down and buy a regular laptop with Microsoft Office installed. I saw some pretty cheap ones advertised for around $399.
