National Education Foundation (NEF), www.CyberLearning.org, the
national nonprofit leader in bridging the digital and academic divides,
has launched a national program to set up CyberLearning Academies in
the Nation's disadvantaged schools, colleges and workforce development
centers. Our goal is to improve the math, science, technology and
business skills of our students and adults so that they can compete for
21st Century jobs.
SEEKING:
We are seeking a creative,
motivated, and high energy CTO that wants to help us make a real
difference in the world. Excellent immediate opportunity to innovate,
learn, grow and contribute.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
Manage a high traffic, high content Moodle-based Learning Management System (LMS)
Innovate and maintain a creative and user-friendly educational website
Be very passionate about helping students and adults learn
QUALIFICATIONS:
--Proven experience managing a Moodle-based LMS as the technology director of a school or college or university
--Managing the design, development, testing, deployment, and operation of web sites based on a Moodle-based LMS
--Relational database design and production system management, esp.
MySQL performance and scaling issues
--Building/deploying web sites similar to Facebook, YouTube, and
MySpace
--SEO / SEM / Social Marketing/e-marketing is a plus
You must be upbeat, a highly creative fast learner, have relevant
technical, analytical, synthesis and systems thinking skills, and have
good interpersonal, oral, and written, and communication skills.
You must be able to work on own and as part of a team. Work
will be performed in our offices in Alexandria, VA, a Washington DC
suburb. Telework is a possibility for candidates with exceptional
experience.
