I usually say it's used if you start using your id# to build an Arbonne business then you can claim your business for tax purposes.

If your just using your id for personal use your social security number is just an easy way to make sure no one has more thanone id# for them.

I tell them that they are essentially signing up to receive the same benefits of being a consultant with no obligation to sell anything. I also tell them that there is no way for Arbonne to distinguish who is working or going to work down the road without it.

It is becoming more and more difficult though, people are very reluctant to give out their personal information and I don't blame them...especially if they don't want any part of the opportunity.

I tell them that Arbonne doesn't recognize the distinction between a wholesale buyer & a consultant. There is the possibity that they will receive a check& that Arbonne requires a ss # so that they will be in compliance.

If they don't want to go any further, then I offer to let them purchae through me, but that they won't be eligible for the start month free gift & often other specials. So far I haven't had anyone refuse!Edited by: arbonnebev
