I have a question that I hope you ladies can help me with. How long approximately is your 'relaxation time' during your spas? I have a relaxation cd that my recruitor gave to me that is so wonderful BUT lately I find that many of the ladies wish to skip it because it is fairly long- like 15-18 minutes. It is kinda long and by the time you get to the end of the spa and they have demoed all your products, they are wanting toorder and get ready to leave. To me,the ralaxation timeusing the cd is the best, but unfortunately some think it needs to be a little shorter. One lady even asked me if I had a shorter version because she wanted it used but "just not so long." So what are your ideas or opinions? Is there a shorter relaxation cd out there that I could get and use- I would hate to take it out all together but if they don't wish to stay for it- what do you do? Your input is appreciated! Thanks.

My relaxation time varies from party to party. I do breathing techniques like relax biofeedback because that is very relaxing. I have to condense it down to a couple of minutes. The whole thing takes about an hour. I allow 5 - 10 minutes max for this. I have had a couple fall asleep and I let them go. Most come out at the 5 minute mark to get their lip apeel off.

I everyone is interested, I will post the biofeedback information.

I learned it while going thru chronic pain. I manage the arthritis that occurred after the pain left and stress with these techniques. The pain has been gone for 10 years!

Hi Vicki,

Your biofeedback sounds interesting. I would love to use it in my relaxation session. I also limit my relaxation time to no more than 5 minutes. I try to prove to my guests that 5 minutes a day is all it takes to relax and regroup.

I love to use a relaxation CD to do the work for me once in a while. Where can I order one?

A good relaxation CD, that offers a 5 minute vacation is Susan Castle. Please tell her I sent you. I had trouble getting my CD in a timely manner, but it works wonderfully for our relaxation session. SHe also has a 7 and 14 minute relaxation on there as well.

Relax Biofeedback:

To do a full relaxation takes about an hour. I modify it by doing head, shoulders, arms and legs. Have them take a deep cleansing breath and exhale. (I wish I could find my script, but it has been so many years, that it is just routine for me now)

Take a deep breath in andmakethe head and neck muscles feel heavy. Hold it for a few seconds and release when exhaling. Same thing with the shoulders, arms and legs. The cd I play is swimming with the dolphins because I really want to do that someday and it is relaxing.

I'll see if I can come up with the full script! It is a great stress reliever. The full body session does put me to sleep.

Thank you guys for responding so quickly- that is another great thing about this message board. You don't have to wait forever and a day to get an answer!!!!

I can see now that my relaxation time has been a little too lengthy. I tried to print off your relaxation exercises, Vicki, but so far my computer locks up when I do. But it might be something I can use with relaxation music in the background - it sounds wonderful!!!

By the way- have any of you seen the new spa and relaxation cd's Wal Mart has? They have the display set up to where you can hear samples of the music. I think they are around $10.00/tape. Not bad.

God bless!

Good Idea!!!

I'm buying another relaxation CD to change the music a bit. Hostesses and guests will love the change; specially if they have already listen to my old CD.

You all are full of wonderful ideas...I love it!!!

Did you try to copy it and paste it on to an email to yourself to print it? Just an idea. Let me know and I can paste it to a word document and send it to you!

I am going to bring my swim with the dolphins cd with me for the 2 spas I have this coming weekend. I always have them imagine themselves at the ocean so this will be great! Don't know why I didn't think of it before.

Everyone on this board is great! I get such great tips from everyone!

Vicki- I didn't try that but I will.I wrote the techniques down on paper to retype just in case though. I can see this as a positive addition to my spas- I think I'll do it at my neck spa and try it with one of the spa cd's other than the one that BC has. I'll beginusing my spa cd from BC then switch to a different one for the relaxation time. Like someone else said, it will be a welcome change to my "old" spa, too. I think the ladies will like it. Again, THANKS!
