View Full Version : Does anyone make $100/week?

I currently babysit 2 toddlers plus my own. I make $130 a week. They are too much of a handful for me plus I don't get paid enough. They don't listen and they break my stuff all the time. I'm doing the best I can though without going completely insane on them. lol. I have another job lined up starting in July. I get to watch a newborn for $200 a week. I lovenewborns, so it is definately not a problem. Plus it's a girl and I know how to handle girls. My daughter is only 9 months, so it is great.I really want to find something where I can work from home in the mean time. I just bought a car, so I can't just quit my job. I do quicktate for some extra change, but is it possible to make atleast $100 a week doing work from home? If so, please let me know what and how you do it. And the average you make a week. Thanks. Legit stuff only please.

To be honest I make more then 100.00 a week. I work a job from home that pays hourly. It is awesome and I have 3 kids but only 2 are toddlers. What I like about where I work at is you can choose your own hours. Please see my signature as that is where my job is. If I can help in any way feel free to message me. (and as a side note: I started out working from home the same way you are! I started babysitting and hated it so I worked my butt off to find something from home!) I have to thank God daily that I make a full-time income and don't have to leave my kids in a daycare situation.

I don't mind babysitting, but these kids are a nightmare. I have never seen kids misbehave so badly. They need discipline, but they aren't my kids so I can't say anything. I'm only 19. Granted, my husband makes great money, but I like to contribute. I checked out your signature and it just doesn't look legit from the front page. Most places you look at like that are scams. I will keep checking it out and give it a shot if I see something I like. Can you tell me more about what you do? Thanks!

I checked that and there is a fee, and is for ebook. I refuse to pay a fee for work. There is all kinds of article that tell people those are scams.

Yeah, I know that. I work for Quickt*te and M*urk. It's just not enough to cover my payments. I have been looking for months for some other stuff, but I don't want to do a call center with a young baby.

I work from home full time at several different jobs and make more than I did when I worked at my outside career. It just takes a while to find the right fit...I work for Google and Demand Studios, along with scoring for Pearson every now and then and a few others that aren't as consistent.

I make well more than $100 a week. I do affiliate marketing and take surveys.

Like you my first wah job was daycare and like you, I didn't care for it much.. Then I tried direct sales.. I didn't like that either.. You have to find something you enjoy.

I work for a local franchise in my area ... ReBath *
I take calls from people who want to set up estimates / appointments
I normally get about 8-10 calls a day - 9-5
While i wait on the phone ringing , i get housework done and set appointments for my other business
They actually found me via Craigslist
You can post your resume there - maybe you should give that a try !

AT HOME 2007,

I just wanted to ask a few ?s regarding Rebath. I know there is a local retail location about 2 towns over from me, do you know if you need to train with them at their location 1st or you can train to set up the appointments from home? I have high speed internet and a plain land line. Is that something they require. Is their a website you can apply or have to find through craiglist? I already work from home, but it's a bit slow with the call volume that I get. I figured this could be something extra for me.

Thanks,

Can I ask if your Bain Medical job is letting seniors know about medical equipment? If so, how is it going?Someone posted about it a while back and apparently severalon this forum are giving it a try.Apparently people can make around $2,000 a month doing this part time.

I didnt go through any training with ReBath for the phone end of things - but i did meet with the owner to go over the log in for their system, as well as met him at Home Depot where they have a display , to go over product info
Im not sure if theyre all the same - he did have a girl in the office at the showroom , taking the calls - she had moved on, and he wanted to give this a try
So far its working out great !

As for Bain - yes, its the opportunity to help seniors get the products that they are entitled to , for diabetes and arthritis
I know people who have made about 8 appointments in the last week alone
The $ is there to be made, yes *
It is NOT strictly work from home - you DO have to go to the persons home or senior center, and give them the info, and (hopefully) take an order
But its amazing so far !!!

Sorry I was not on here for awhile.. I was working so I will try to answer everyones questions on the ebook. Yes it does cost you to get the book but no it is nota scam. It has so many leads in it and the thing I like on the leads parts is you don't have to sit here and search and search for a job. They are at your fingertips because you just pick what category you are looking for work in and then you can see the jobs. The jobs are ones that don't require a fee. Yes you pay for the ebook like you pay for any book. But to be honest I was worried at first too but then I seen they had a guarantee and I had a baby coming so I thought I am gonna give it shot. I am glad I did because it was not just the leads that helped me.

I was able to get help finding out all my skills, writing my resume, and questions I needed to ask to land the job. Now I work a job full-time from home with my little guy sitting right here beside me. Also any questions I could not find on the ebook I was able to get live professional help.

I don't feel you can go wrong but of course everyone feels differently and I respect that. I am not putting anyone down for only using forums to find jobs because that is free but I found myself spending hours digging and reading and sometimes missing good jobs on here and other boards so that is why I gave it a shot. If I help just one person then I feel I have done my job as a fellow work at home mom because when I was looking there were a few out there that helped me and I just want to return the favor.

Hope this helps you understand why I am passionate on this.

I understand having kids that are nightmares and nothing you can do about it! My husband also has a great job but I also have 3 kids so I use my check to buy the extras. When we want to go do something special it is not an issue.

It is not a scam and I did explain below a little more about it. Basically I do many things during the day...take phone calls, type, answer questions. I just work around my new little one.

I hope you find something soon.

So about how many hours do you typically spend outside the home per day with this job? I like the fact that this job helps people. I'm considering giving it a try.

AtHome2007
02-17-2009, 04:56 PM
It varies * I have about 10 hours a week to put towards it right now - and thats sufficient *
Appointments only take maybe 30-45 minutes (depends on whether you chat alot - lol )
If you do something at a senior center - it might take a little longer
You can truly make the hours you want

If you are good at writing, why not try your hand at affiliate marketing? You probably won't make $100 your first week, but it can build up to that if you can get the hang of it.http://www.wahm.com/forum/smileys/smiley1.gif

Like when you go to Clickbank.com you can browse the marketplace and see all kings of eproducts that people buy thatare searching for information products...

Build a blog or hubpage - Ireally like to use Squidoo,as well - and use those freeplaces to promote stuffthat you can find at free places such as Clickbankand make money that way....

I would recommend reading up on affiliate marketing a bit first if this is all new to you , but it is definitely a way to make $$. http://www.wahm.com/forum/smileys/smiley17.gif

I make $170-340 a week working Uhaul. I have been with them for over a year and take inbound emergency roadside assistance calls. They have medical insurance, 401K, life, and many other benefits. They add $150.00 extra into my check a month now because my husband carries insurance on me from his place of employment (he is an electrician in the mines) I do this for extra money to spend on special things for the girls, movies etc. We have a thread over on www.workplacelikehome.com (http://www.workplacelikehome.com) with the links to apply:)

Good luck you all!

brenda >> An eBook isn't necessarily a scam. Providing it's legitimate and its contents are of any value, it would be spending money for education. That's a different story than paying a fee for a job. It's deceptive (bordering on scam) if it's posted as a job and *then* you find out it's an eBook. ;)

>>workingmamma2 It has so many leads in it and the thing I like on the leads parts is you don't have to sit here and search and search for a job. They are at your fingertips because you just pick what category you are looking for work in and then you can see the jobs.<< Appreciate your feeling about it. Perhaps you're new to wah jobs. But you can get that information many places for free. There's such a list right here on WAHM. That's one of the things that's meant when it's said "Don't pay for a job" meaning don't pay for something that offers you information you can already get for free.

Mornin

mommynwife>> I make considerably more than $100 week. But I'm an independent contractor. I can literally make my own jobs. I don't just rotely apply to "work at home companies." I don't search job boards. I have quite a few skills which aren't really technical. Basically I put them together in a package and offer them to people and companies that don't know they need me. :)

That's what I would suggest you do. Take stock of what skills you have. Look around your neighborhood or the web and see where you can use them to help the business owner solve problems. My guess is this is successful because you're the only one doing it - or just about. It's not 10,000 people applying to one company (like the ones routinely listed on wah forums) for a small handful of jobs.

I noticed you said, "I really want to find something where I can work from home in the mean time." This sounds as though you just want something temporary until the other job starts in July? If that's so, it might be difficult to find such a thing - that you can make any money at or count on anyway. Just because you're working at home you can't just work a couple months and quit any more that you can working on site at a brick and mortar building. You might be able to pick up one or two of the odd job here and there. But I don't know how much you could count on that. You could certainly try.

Good luck!

Yes, if I average it out, I guess I make about $150 or so a week doing surveys. So my answer would have to be "yes." That said, it isn't like I get one consistent check each week as I am paid by dozens of different companies. But I always keep a monthly log and average over $600 a month, so yes, I would fall into this category.

You are right. I just learned how to do webpage designing and now think that is fun. I guess I was just intimidated by it.

Witchwith3> The link that Lisamb27 posted is the Google job. Don't be confused about it saying Workforce Logic on the page. They handle the hiring of at least the ad raters for Google.

I'd heard Google was actually laying people off. Is that true?

Yep there is so much out there. I finally found a job making an hourly wage which is great! My DH found out he may lose his job in 18 months so this is going to be really important to us!

That is a bummer about your husband, I wish you all the best.
I agree with you that an hourly wage is so much better. Commission sometimes can be tough, it is nice to know you are getting a certain amount of money instead of hoping the week or month goes well.

Could someone please tell me more about helping seniors with medical supplies? I would really like to do something like this.
I have always really enjoyed talking with seniors (and they like me too!) I actually took a job with craftmati* adjustable beds and that was going to seniors homes and centers and really liked visiting with them.
I just didn't care for the company's forceful sales tactics, but that was 5+ years ago..

Oh my you would go nuts with my boys. smileys/smiley4.gif They break everything! I won't even buy nice furniture until they're out of the house. Saves me a bundle ;)

Since I have an NDA I cannot tell you where I work or how much I make, but I do make quite a bit more than $150 a week and it's steady. It took a long time to find, but through diligence I found it.

While I'm doing this I also blog and do some tech stuff. With this I'm trying to build an income of at least $2,000 a month just in case I ever do lose the nice contract I have. I think I would freak if I lost it right now because blogging is brining in a good $300 or so per month and that just isn't enough.

It's out there for you...keep searching!

I sure do, Freelance Writing (http://www.lynxtrack.com/afclick.php?o=7860&b=bm9mg4z8&p=27986&l=1&c=68137) is the biggest part of it, I also take Surveys (http://y5b.org)

What am I missing? You have to pay for this writing thing? Is it actually work or a list?

Not sure if this was mentioned, but you can make $100 week at babytobee. It is a phone job, though.
