I'm cleaning the house, and am now in the dreaded office. Well, I found my old brief case, and was going through it. Oopps, I pull out a check from November 2004! It's only $12.92.
Would you cash it, or say forget it?

From past experience, I don't think the check is cashable... I know I had
check from my FIL that we thought had been cashed and when we found it
(dated 8 months earlier) the bank told us we needed to have him reissue a

Yeah, I think checks are only valid for 60 or 90 days. At least it's only for $12.92 and not $50.92 or more!!!

Banks differ on their "Lifespan" of checks, but typically 90 days. You'd have to get one reissued and for $12.92.... it's not worth it.

Frame it and be thankful your electricity wasn't in jeopardy of being turned off without those 12 dollars!

LOL! That's too funny. I found one older than that once from when I had my first job at Burger King as a teenager. Found it about 8 years later!
My bank says 6 months is all. So unfortunately you can't cash it now.

You can't cash it. Lol we had the same thing happen with a check we recieved from our wedding. Keep it as a reminder to stay organized lol!
