Ijust moved to my city and do not know anyone. I have never liked begging my friends to by the latest thing I was selling and having them feel silently annoyed and pressured to buy from me out of loyalty or something. I realize there is a new approach and not necessarily having to do the home parties which I loathe. I love the anti-aging line, although it seems expensive. Any advice on joining would be great.

Hi Denise! First and foremost, welcome to our board! You will find lots of helpful information here.
Many Arbonne consultants have built their businesses through a cold market, rather than a warm one. That way when you hear NO it doesn't hurt as much.
I would try to go to some networking events...maybe a chamber of commerce meeting. You might also want to consider having an "open house" to meet your new neighbors.
Have you checked the Arbonne website for field meetings in your area? You can find that right on the web...it will tell you all meeting in your area (if any) they are generally open to the public. This will allow you to meet other consultants in your area and to be involved with Arbonne.
Do you currently have a sponsor? Sounds like you use the Re9. It is not expensive compared to other lines out there. Plus, you are getting high quality ingredients and the system will last you quite a few months.
Let me know if you have any questions....

Girl, I felt the same way!!!! I was with another company for a long time and could not ask my friends or family. I didn't not want them to hide and run every time they saw me.
I had the sticker on the back of my car, and I even wore a sweatshirt with the name on the front. But I never asked anyone, and no one ever asked me.
Then a good friend invited me to one of those parties. When I told her I was a consultant, she said, "Why didn't you tell me?" I was sooo embarrassed.smileys/smiley5.gif
So then I would say to my friends, "Hey, I just started M___ K___, if you know anyone who's looking for a consultant, just let me know." That let them know what I was doing and it kept them off the hook too.
The RE9 approach is soooo much better than those parties. But if you don't share it with friends and family, you'll have to network.
I too thought the RE9 was expensive but someone told me it lasts for about 9 months and only costs 72 cents per day!
Good luck to you!

Well, the way I look at it is if you love the products and sign up wholesale, you get a great deal on the RE9 set. Even if you never do anything it is worth it. I started just buying a few things for myself and family, but it just naturally came out when talking to people, as I researched ingredients, and especially the prolief. So I ordered for friends and family at my discount. It took 6 months, but I realized I could make some money doing this if I got serious. So I did. And it has been great. You can run your business however you prefer and as long as you don't get talked into anything you are not comfortable with, you can do it without regrets!
Good luck!

I agree with the other gals on this board. Most all of my team is from my cold market. In all honestly, I don't even try to sell to my warm market...not everyone in Arbonne would do business the way that I do but that's the beauty about this company. There are many ways to do it...and there are many ways to succeed. I have found with me that it just comes to being creative...especially since I have committed to not being pushy with my friends and family. My suggestions, ask different individuals how they run your team and how what ideas they would have for you if you joined their team. Some teams are very specific in how they want their consultants to do business so make sure that you ask. Others do a variety of things. Others do everything. All that to say, don't be nervous about joining...your sponsor will help train you to succeed. And the reality is, these products sell themselves. Best of luck to you in whatever you decide.

Hi Denise,
Welcome. I would agree with what has been said already but would like to add a couple of comments.
I was like you in that I didn't want to do home parties. Well, never say never because I found that in some cases, they're not a bad option. I found that some people really LOVE going to parties and my very firstparty was a HUGE success. Since my nation was a pioneer of the results approach (formerly known as the puppy approach), it's a major way I do my business but I couple that with occasional parties.
Secondly, I had a cold market as well, which suited me fine because I also don't like hitting up family and friends. However, I HAVE mentioned my business venture to them. I'm very casual about it and keep things at a high level because I don't want to pressure anybody. The good thing is that you can build your business from either a cold or warm market.
And lastly, assuming you already have a sponsor, ask that sponsor lots and lots of questions. Find out what their thoughts are for someone who has your goals. Ask them how involved they'll be with you. Ask them about the upline. And listen for specifics, not generalities.
Your sponsor should not be putting forth their agenda but yours. You should feel comfortable with your sponsor because once you join, you can't change.
Good luck.
Ines
