Hello Ladies. I hope you all can help me some time.
I am looking for some fairly cheap party favors. I am with Taste of Home Entertaining and I will be holding a kick off month. What I plan to do is have one big kick-off parties to introduce everyone to TOHE. My friend as been terrific about offering to open her home to me and all my invited guests (she has the perfect home to show my stuff in) and I want to make it a special occassion for everyone.
I was considering doing a special give away to my guests that day. Among those items I am looking at some chocolate party favors such as champagne bottles or something that says is more along the lines of celebrating.
For those people who book their party that day, I will also be bringing the party favors for their guests. That's why I am calling it a kick off month.
Anyway, that is why I need some cheap ideas here. Nothing "cheesy" though. Our products are high end items and I want to reflect that in my favors, but not go broke doing it.
Any suggestions are welcome,
Brenda

Hi Brenda,
I like the chocolate champagne idea! What about just some really good rich chocolate - individually wrapped - and then you could wrap it again in a fancier package (like a little sachet or something)?
What about a tealight in a champagne glass (think wedding favor-ish)?
I stink at this kind of stuff! I love your kick off month idea though!

Thanks Rebecca,
You're not too bad. I didn't think of the tea light in the glasses idea. I like it. And I had been thinking of chocolates....we all love chocolate.
Thanks for your support too. I only have one chance to make a first impression, so I want to do it right.
Have a great weekend,
Brenda

Hi Brenda-
I'm not sure of the price, but I know you can order custom votives from Yankee Candle. You can choose the artwork on the wrapper and include a message on it.It might be a little pricey, though, since it's Yankee Candle, but it can't hurt to check it out.
I do like the tea light in the glass idea, too.

Here's another - I am considering purchasing personalized fortune cookies to give to people after they order. Something like 'beautiful jewelry is in your future' for mine, yours would obviously say something different, but you get the idea. They aren't TOO expensive, and it seems like a fun way to say thank you. Just another $.02 from me. smileys/smiley1.gif

oops - fortune cookies are probably not what you are looking for since you want something more high end.

LOL...it's alright Judy. It's still a good idea. Perhaps I can think of way to make it seem "uppity"smileys/smiley36.gif
I have decided to go with the champagne idea. I did check out the Yankee Candle site and it's pretty cool. They do have a champagne wrapper too so that's great.
Thanks,
Brenda

On the high end line of Chocolates there is Bodega Chocolates. They can actually take the company logo, make a logo templateand imprint it on the boxes. There is a one time fee for the template though. You could also just Taste of Home on the ribbon. The Petit Favors are 2.95/box, but well worth it.

In all honesty, there are only 2 things I do for "favors". The dollar store (can't resist some of the items are great!). But mostly what I do is give my product that I purchase on sale, or break up. For example, if you get multiple items, wrap one up nicely and give that. With my discount, I spend the same and am giving myself the biz, and giving a sneak peak of a product they may be interested in.

Thanks Crystal, I was looking into the Bodega Chocolates. Almost everyone loves chocolate. smileys/smiley2.gif
I think like you do Debbie aobut giving out my own products and that will be my idea from this point on, but since I can't order until May 1st and I want to have things ready before then. We have an Italian Stitch Expresso Set that comes with 4 cups and saucers that I can get for $10 so that's only $2.50 a piece. We also have the soy candle sets that I can get for $7.50 and that would equal $.2.50 a piece too. So I have some options in the future, but for now I have to go with stuff from others. smileys/smiley5.gif
Thanks for your help ladies. It keeps me thinking.

Brenda,
I say dip those fortune cookies in melted chocolate, and decorate with non-
pariels... You know. To give them that dstinctive "uppity" look! smileys/smiley2.gif
I also love Debbie' idea of breaking up a set or two (like you mentioned, the
espresso set or the soy candles, for example).

I suppose we could split of the Prep bowls and the Tuscan Goblets. The goblets would be very cute with a little candy or something with a ribbon. hmmmmmm....thinking thinking thinking.....

I found this gal here who has a recipe card business and she has agreed to print out a coffee cake recipe on a card with a coffee cake border. Well, it's hard to discribe, but I think you get the idea. Of course it will be a Taste of Home recipe, but as soon as I find it and send it to her, she'll make up my cards for me.
Here is her email if anyone else is interested in using her. I am sure be happy to help us. It's a nice littly door prize to share with our guests.
