Good Morning;
I been looking for a home job for like 1 1/2 and nothing. I saw this post on craiglist. " Nanny Needed" I E-mail the lady. What do you guys think about her answer. Do you guys think it could be a scam? Just the fact that is about taking care of her twin baby's and not having the time to have a meeting with me...
This is what went down...

This is what I wrote:

Thats too much information to be giving out. I would be on high alert. I have ran into lots of similar scams and it all starts like that. One thing she ask is occupation. She doesn't need to know that if you work or don't work. She shouldn't need your address. Also why would she ask for your email if you replied through email. Its just seeming a little weird. I have dealt with nearly ten scams and know what to look for. I have had three scams be from babysitting sites. Two or three were from craigslist. So just be cautious and if your not comfortable on giving information out then tell her. See how she responds. One of the things i notice is eventually if its a scam they will ask you to run and pick up something or purchase something for them. Then they will say they will reimburse you for what ever you get for them just send them copies of the reciepts and your bank account information.

Please don't fall for any scams!

DON'T DO THIS!

Don't even respond to them anymore.

This is an advanced fee fraud.

You see here where it says, "i will like to send you a check to cover for your first salary of $600,since i am not that available to have a meeting with you first.
2.to see the distance of your home to mine." This is one of the excuses they use for this fraud "that they can't make a meeting or be there themselves. It certainly isn't going to tell you "the distance of your home to mine.

Certainly DO NOT send them ANY of the rest of the info or your picture! They're just trying to get more information out of you for however much they can use that info...including your picture. Good grief! Heaven only knows what they intend to do with that.

Now I have a question, does this show as underlined with little dots to anyone else? "child development." Also is "2.to" a hyperlink to anyone?

Thank you so much for your reply.
What got me on RED alert was, that she didn't have to time to have a meeting with me. I would never give my kid to just anyone. She don't know if i'm a bad person a criminal... Thanks again

LLERANIA (or anyone) Is "child development." underscored with little dots in your copy of the email? Also is "2.to" a hyperlink? I'm trying to figure out if it's truly there or if I have some malware on my machine.

No mother in her right mind would hire a sitter, sight unseen and pay sitter before ever meeting her?? That is definitely a scam.

Thanks Sassynic :)

You know and I don't mean this to sound judgemental, but the English is so poor it would be unlikely that this person would be looking to hire you as a nanny. It would more likely be the other way around. Think of of it. Even if English was her/his second language, a family needing a nanny for their children would be a professional one of some sort or at least at a job that requires a lot of time out of their day, and certainly makes/has enough money to *pay* a nanny. In that case you'd expect their English to be better.

Mornin; you are so right.
English is my second language and mine is not as bad. I wanted to thank all of you. Gosh I'm just getting so tired of all this scam. Today I got 3 "job" scams. The sad thing is that this other two company's are using real company's names. with that... who can we really trust..
I googled this lady's E-mail, the only thing that came up was her craiglist post and when I clicked on it.. IT SAID...

This posting has been flagged (http://www.craigslist.org/about/help/flags_and_community_moderation) for removal

LLERANIA, if you have a spare moment and are so inclined, would you PM the names and urls and possibly emails if they still exist to the 2 companies that were using real company names? I'm thinking I'd like to do something about that and have been collecting info on it.

I've been watching that develop for about a year now (scammers using well-known company names.) This is a dangerous trend. And it seems to be increasing. How many of us would take the time to research a brand name company before we send our personal info to them? I've seen ones that are using names like Bank of America, IBM, Microsoft. It's not like the previous, run of the mill ones that made up a name and put up a website from scratch that we could research and find that they just registered it two weeks ago.

This has got to be stopped.

So if you have a moment I'd love to have that info, if you still have it. *s*

Btw, your English is very good. :)

Sounds like a scam to me too. No one would send you a check before you're given a job. And I think any parent hiring a Nanny would most certainly want to meet with them face to face.

Scam alright. I just interviewed for a virtual assistant post on messenger and they wanted to send me a check for purchasing software plus a bonus of $100. You are right mornin, scammers are getting better at putting in ads and scheduling fake interviews.
