My husbands divorcee decree states that he is to provide medical
coverage for his children and any un-reimbursed medical expenses to be
split 50/50. The ex does not like the medical coverage he has so takes
the children to places not covered and asks him to pay for half.

You can look into health benefits plans that are a little less expensive than insurance coverage but also give you added benefits like legal assistance, road side assistance, teladoc and other benefits.

Right now all Discount benefit plans through Ameriplan are 1/2 price for our Back 2 School Special. So they range from $7.48 to $19.98 and cover things like Dental, vision, prescription, Medical, Chiropractic. And you can do a provider search right on the site to make sure there are providers in your area. They aren't insurance, just discount plans to help you save up to 80% off. But worth looking into :)
