http://www.wahm.com/forum/smileys/smiley2.gifWhat's the point of them? Well if you read the email that asked you to take the test, it explained to you I am sure that this job requires phone and WRITING skills... so for them to know if you are a qualified writer or not, you have to do an assessment --so if you dont want to do the test, I would say the position might not be something you would want to do -- it involves a lot of writing on a daily basis... hope this helps!

Yes, you can use Magic Jack, I dont think that there are any RAM specifications, but to use Magic Jack with it working well you would want a good amount of RAM in your system. Just check out the technical requirements on their website -- www.onpointathome.com (http://www.onpointathome.com)

Don't be afraid to do it if it's only because you think you don't have great writing skills. I just finished my second assessment last night and just received the response. They tell you up front that the second assessment will be reviewed by an editor and you will receive suggestions for improving your letter/writing skills. It's not as difficult as I expected it to be.

Your weekly minimum is 25 hours. You can schedule yourself up to 40 hours. It just depends if you want to put that amount of time in per week. There are times that a project may end mid week and there is a day or two till another starts, but they try to keep this at a minimum.

Each project has a "theme". You will be given the information you need for your project and you gather more information to include in your writing on the phone calls.

The projects are bi-partisian. I've never noticed them to sway one way or another and OPA will never take on any hot button issues. (abortion, gay marriage etc)

I think they are backed up a bit right now. It usually takes 7-10 days to get a reply.
to littlejohn: Stick around here and you'll see that there are plenty of WAHJ's that are legit and do pay. Many of us work full time from home and make a decent living doing it.
I know it can be discouraging when you first start looking, but apply, apply, apply.
The WAHJ's are in high demand and many times employers get 1000's of applicants at a time. Just be sure to research and post here if you see any red flags. someone will be able to help you out. And you should never send $ in the mail for "training materials" for data entry etc. Check out the Newbie thread at the top of the list in this folder. There is a TON of info in there to get you started on your search. Good Luck and Welcome!

They do not change an upfront fee. There was talk on this board about that, but it was not all factual.
I can't go into too many details here, b/c of confidentiality but there isn't a charge to work for them.

Girlfriend, I'm there with you! I'll be w/ C10 6 am-1:30 pm and a pm shift with OnPoint. I have two under the age of two, but I'm calling in the troops to help babysit for the next few weeks.
I think we will do well, and sleep like babies every chance we get! smileys/smiley4.gif

I wish I could find a baby sitter. Im with onpoint4-9p est time. I wonder if your on my team. Have you added everyone on your team to your gtalk. When did you start. I had training yesterday and started today. They are really nice there and very helpful. They want everyone to succeed.

As far as I know, we did not add anyone new to our team today, but if you'd like to send me a pm with your gtalk address I will say hello when I'm on next week!

hsmom -- you really need to edit or remove your post. You have signed a confidentiality agreement, and you are NOT supposed to talk about the details of the second assessment. If you have questions, just email them, I am sure that they will help you out! I dont want to see you get in trouble for talking about it on here... http://www.wahm.com/forum/smileys/smiley20.gif
