Hi,
I am new to WAHM. My best friend has encouraged me to look for a part time job through WAHM. This is where I need your help.
I believe telecommuting would best suit me. I would prefer a part time position in data entry since I have been doing it for years. I am interested in a minimum of $500 a month but, of course, wouldn't have a problem making more.
I have found two companies through the telecommuting job listing and found these two companies and was wondering if anyone has had any experience with them.
Data Entry Rebate Processing
A Data Work at Home Co.
I appreciate your help.

Hi, Liz! Welcome to wahm.com - you've certainly come to the right place! Do you have any links to these sites? It would make it easier to track them down, but in the meantime, I haven't seen a "rebate processing job" yet that was actually legitimate. I'll wait until I see the sites you are asking about to make any other comments.
Welcome!

Both of those company names sounds like generic make you pay a fee for "the list" or "the book" type companies.http://www.wahm.com/forum/smileys/smiley5.gif

We work for the co, they pay us. Scam if you pay for them. Been there done that.

Thank You Blinky, Trese & jerryswife7777 for responding.
So if they do not ask for $$ up front, then they are essentially ok to work for I take it.
Jerryswife7777, which Co. do you work for?
Thanks again!

Well, it depends on what the money is for. Things like "training materials" and "website maintenance" are not legitimate reasons to ask for money. On the other hand, some telemarketing companies ask prospective employees/contractors to pay for their own background check because most of them will be working with credit card information. In this case, it's fine.
Again, if you have any questions about what's okay and what's not, just ask! Someone here will know!
Best,
