Hey everyone! I thought it might be fun for everyone to list thier most favorite and most challenging part of their 'jobs'... your fave may be another person's biggest challange and we can probably learn a lot from each other:

In all fairness, I haven't really started any 'party plan biz' yet.. I am talking to someone on this board about starting up w/ her, so my answers will be more geared toward Melaleuca (yes, you see a close to my heart thing in my sig line, but I am using that for just personal use)

Fave thing - Email - I love it! It is a big time saver for me and I love that I can schedule appts, answer questions, do follow-ups, etc with it

Biggest Challange- Being Organized - I bought a Palm z22 yesterday so hopefully I will be able to overcome all the paper mess that surrounds me.

I was thinking of posting something jsut like this last wekk, like a best/worst poll!

My favorite thing in the SHOWS! I love them! I always have so much fun and I love meeting new people and showing off our product!

My weakest area is ORGANIZATION, UGH, I am terrible at it! I am terrible at keeping good records and keeping up with stuff. MY second biggest weakness would be wasting time! :)

This is tricky for me because there's not much I don't like about my biz. But I do especially like the shows and I love starting new presenters! They're always so excited it keeps me excited too!

The worst has to be making phone calls for bookings. Hate that! I'm getting better at booking at the parties so I don't have to do that so much but I still need to follow up with people and I hate it. I'm also not organized at all so that's a huge problem too. I never know how to file things and they always end up in a big pile on my desk. smileys/smiley11.gif

What do I love about my Biz? Well, I'm just starting with Taste of Home, so I can' be specific.

But when it comes to direct sales in general, I would say my favorite part of this job is the people.I have made some of my very best friends though the DS industry and I don't know what it would be like to not have them now.

My biggest challenge has been getting my husband excited about what I do. I am very happy that he is really getting into my new business because he loves cooking. Hopefully, in about a year, this "challenge" will be my favorite thing. smileys/smiley2.gif

Thanks for asking. Good question.

My favorite part is mentoring and helping other women develop themselves and their business. I also like that I can get paid and not have to give any to a day care.

My most challenging is just trying to balance my work & family time. It gets hard when I have to hear my little scream when I sit down to the computer because I have to take care of something right away. I need to stick to my schedule and honor my family more that way.

My favorite...man, I really love my job! I like training, learning, thinking of creative ways to grow my business...

Most challenging? Keeping good records, I suppose. I'd rather be talking to people than entering numbers into the computer! smileys/smiley2.gif

I would have to agree with Ellen here, my favorite thing about my business is meeting new people, showing products, presenting our Opportunity & of course Parties. Most challenging for me - is getting people to call me back.

My favorite parts about being a consultant with the Traveling Vineyard: I get to learn about and taste wine, and people are so appreciative after I finish a party. They really feel like they are getting something, not just me showing them product, but them trying the wine, me sharing wine and food pairing ideas, recommending wines based on what they have described they like, its really a lot of fun, i get alot of people saying "thats really interesting, I never knew that!"

My least favorite part: Traveling to the event (trying not to go toofar)and when I miscalculate an order.

My favorite is the excitement our products bring and the ability to reach all different levels of people and not have to do just home parties.

The hardest thing is organization and coming up with good ways to reach the public because our company is still not real well known.

I might be the oddball here, but one of my favorite parts of my business is organizing it! hahaha I love doing it. It reminds me who's the boss--ME!smileys/smiley36.gif
I also love sharing everything w/people regarding my business. That's the beauty of being truly passionate about what you're selling--it makes it easy.

My biggest challenge has been (like someone else said) getting my boyfriend excited about what I'm doing (I think</span> he's silently taking a let's-just-wait-and-see-where-this-goes-before-I-show-any-ex citement approach, haha) and also follow-up. That's my biggest challenge!smileys/smiley5.gif

I gotta agree with many of you....the people aspect is the most fun for me. In my company there are few if any others that I know of that promote Vemma through home parties. I love it though, and it works for me! Another great thing for me is that I only have to learn, use, love, and promote one product. It is soooo much easier than having to figure out an entire catalog and learn everything about each product.

Again, I'm copying many of you on the downfall too. Organization...ugh!

My favorite is working with schools- I like home shows...but I think it is so exciting to do a reading program and get the kids excited about learning! (And telling a librarian to pick out 1500.00+ in free books makes my day too!)

Worst part...like alot of you, is staying organized.smileys/smiley11.gif

My favorite part is meeting people, helping them get started and seeing our goals all being met. Also the fact that my company's products honestly are changing people's lives - that feels pretty good smileys/smiley1.gif

I don't really have a least favorite part, but the part I have the most trouble with is sticking to my scheduled hours and not popping onto the computer ten times a day or switching my schedule around to suit someone else.
