I was wondering where to get a good deal on mason jars (if any one knows of any craft stores,or retail stores) and glass container jars for making candles.
I checked at walmart and was told that they only carry them in the Summer.
That is strange, why not carry these all year?
I would rather find these in town,so I don't pay shipping, but the only cheap place I found was www.greatcandle.com (http://www.greatcandle.com)
Or maybe also Peakcandles.com has a good deal also.
I was going to check on Meijers too,see if their carry them.
Thank you!

Well, the first relevant question would be what state do you live in? Shipping is a beast, so its always good to find a local supplier whenever possible. Peaks is decent for some things, but their container prices are a little higher. Really depends on where you live and what kind of look you are going for (primitive, contemporary, etc.)

I live in MI.
I am thinking about either going with greatcandles.com or ordering more things from CW, so I'll maybe include 12 jars.
Thanks.

I'd compare item plus shipping cost prices from www.wholesalesuppliesplus.com and from www.candlesupply.com One is in Wisconsin and the other is in Cleveland. Both have a wide selection and great prices, but you'd want to check the shipping on those.

There are TONS of places that sell jars. It's all a matter of what you want exactly, and how much you want to spend.
We had been getting our jelly jars from the local hardware store because they gave us a discount (we buy a lot of jars, and always several cases every time we go in), but it looks like they aren't going to be stocking them at all anymore. Walmart is starting to phase out the kind we use as well, and all that's been available lately are the wide mouth jars which do NOT work for candles (unless of course you like tunneling).
Do a little digging and I bet you will come up with quite a few suppliers.

Thank you both for your help.
I will look at the websites you both posted.
And also the hardware store ( never thought of that!).
My Walmart hereonly has the glas jars, in different sizes, not exactly what I am looking for.
I want the 8 oz mason jars,9 oz, hex jars, and maybe 2 and 4 oz tin or jelly jars for samples.

I checked our local Walmart as well, they said they only carry the jars during "canning" season! I have ordered jars, but the shipping cost can be expensive!

I found different sizesof votive jars at walmart, myself.
I wish they carried the mason jars thru out the whole year!
That'd be nice.
I am thinking about checking the hardward store,as Karadawn mentioned here.
Do you have craft stores where you live? We don't unfornately.
I am looking up suppliers in MI to see what they charge for shipping.
I think I may end up ordering from my company anyway; things like tealight, 9 oz hex jars, 8ozmason jarsand maybe a few more.
Good luck with finding jars!

We do have Save A lot stores.
No, No Pat Catan's. Never heard of that kind of store.
You can pmme, Anna, if you'dlike.
I am actually not making alot of candles, (my Advocare biz is rocking and rolling and I just got really busy with signups and mixers and trainings going on), but when I do,am reusing coffee mugs, cleaned out salsa jars, and my old MB jars (after the candles are all burned out, they clean up really nice).
I also found baby jars in the sizes I wanted,so I clean themout and use thoses as well.
Thank you!!

Hey Paula...
Don't take this as a criticism, because it isn't meant as one but...
How many things are you working at one time?

Do you mean Home Businesses only?
or hobbies too,and a fulltimejob?
I am working my Advocare, the business I've been with for 6 years, and that is it.
I am making candles and selling them locally,as a hobby.
Why do you ask?
How about you?

I thought you were also doing something with chocolate as well. And I wasn't sure what companies you were still with and what not :) Like I said.. not an insult, just curious.
I'm involved with one business at this time. It keeps me too busy to really get involved with anything else

Iknow what you mean! We are getting swamped with Advocare! We have alotto promotethis week for our Mixer next Tuesday and our Trainings with Re'al Andrews next week and then again in March we have more events he is doing for us as well,to explode Advocare in this area and in Michigan!!
No,I didn't get involved with the chocolate one.
I am just to busy with this and family and then work.
Only so many hours in one day,you know?
How is the new company and business coming?

Things are going good with the business. Launch is scheduled for April 2. We have 3 Founding Directors so far, with a few more people who have sent their interest about the positions. Things are looking up!!!
