I was in Detroit over the Holiday's at the mall and there was a lady who was selling candles that she make; the candles came with a little spoon so after the wax melt you can scoop the wax out and it turn into lotion.... I would love to make this any ideas on how to make it? Edited by: mscici

Its a soy candle blended with either shea or cocoa butters. You should be able to google it. Just look up "massage candle".

They are nice. I make them from time to time for personal use, but I'll never sell them. I can't risk my business on a moron not following directions and hurting themselves!! Soy candle mixed with shea butter, a little coconut oil and vitamin E.

FYI though, if you do decide to sell these, make absolutely sure your fragrance oil is body safe since not all of them are. Most suppliers will have the disclaimer right on the bottle or at least on their site.

I have heard that most Soy waxes are great for your cuticles.
So, I am sharing this benefit as well at my Home Parties and class.
I am not sure I understand how people use the Massage andles.
After they've blown out the candle, they pour the wax onto their hands and massage it in?

Essentially, a soy massage candle is a soy based candle that generally has some form of carrier oil/butter added to it. Typically, there is shea or cocoa butter in it as well as jojoba oil. The idea is that you light the candle, give it 30minutes to an hour to achieve a full melt pool, blow out the candle, and use the warm/hot lotion infused wax for massage purposes.
I personally don't make them to sell, as the liability risk on them is much higher than normal.

Like others have said, these are nice for personal use, but selling is another matter. Also, as a heads up. If you are insured as a candle maker, you will not be covered if you decide to market these as well. You will need an insurance plan that covers B&B as well, since these are applied to the skin. ;)
