Has anybodyheard or workedfor Sutherland at Home? They are a corporate company based in New York and they are just now opening positions of customer service in and out bound, and also technical support. I just heard of this company just today but they have been hiring for about 3-4 months already and Im sure they have a lot of positions left. The hours are very flexible its part-time permanent for now, 20-29 hours a week but there pay is very good $10-$15 an hour to start more than most companies. I also saw job postings on Monster, Careerbuilder and Yahoo Hotjobs for their work at home jobs. Sounds like a great legit opportunity. Im going to apply!!! http://www.wahm.com/forum/smileys/smiley32.gif

I just applied to them myself...the process took a while to get through the assesments, so I recommend setting aside about 1 hour. I will update on if I hear anything else from them.

I went through training back April. I quit because of poor training and horrible technical problems. I dont know anything about 10-15 an hour pay. 8.50 is what they were paying and it wasnt worth everything you had to do. The training was at your own pace. I believe there were 63 chapters we were expected to get through in 3 weeks. Not humanly possible to remember all that.We were put on phones without having a clue what we weredoing. Was suppose to be customer service position but learned real fast it is a sales job. You are expected to sell something on every call. Customer is not calling to buy anything. They are calling for help with their bill. We were required to try to make a sale. Lots and Lots of tech issues. Bad experience for me.

I did try to work for Sutherland butthe training is absolutely horrible. If you can get through that without ripping your hair out... go for it.
The training consist of around 20-40 sessions that may have 10-15 sub-sessions within the main sessions and it is not interactive....To be honest there is NOOOOO way to learn all this stuff in 3 weeks.. its just not possible. All of the training is just reading. I'm not exaggerating... it's nothing but reading loads and loads of stuff and they tell you not to take notes because it will confused you??!!??
Training is at your own pace but you will have a deadline. For instance you may have to read sessions 1-16 begining Monday and have them finished by the next Monday....sounds easy huh?Again you maybe asked to read sessions 1-16 but each session may have another 5 session EACH, making it actually80 sessions..that's crazy.
I was absolutely bored out of my mind....I was sooo irritated after sitting there reading because you can do nothing else while your reading. When you download they're programs, it completely take over your computer.
Meaning.. have you ever been at a brick and mortarcompany and tried to access a Internet site and it blocks it? Well this is what happens with them. Once you are logged into they're system, you are on they're system and you can't access sites like Yahoo or anything like that. If you try they'll be blocked... and it will actually say, "it's against company policy to access this site, blah, blah, blah"... so all in all, you can't do nothing but read. Nothing else. The only way you can access sites like this is if you completely log out of they're virtual database.
I got through the training part and the technical part was just tooo much for me to bear. You have to toggle through at least 7 screens... well with the project that I was on you did. It just wasn't worth (to me).
It seems like a good company to work for and they do pay on time... They pay you for training.. so that is good too...
Just so you know, if you have a computer that is not new, you will have technical issues. The majority of our training calls consisted of the first hour or so helping people get they're computer straight so that we can have training.
Mattiebear is right. $8.50 is the base pay. You only get the $1.50 while your actually talking on the phone. When your not talking.. it's only $8.50 and it is a sales position. People are calling pissed off about they're bill and then you have to try and sales something to them... no way I will work here. They need to pay around $14 or $15 an hour for the work they expect you do. Also at the time I was working, which was around the month of June, we only were able to work up to 20 hours, nothing else. But training was 40 hours a week at the $8.50 per hour.

Hi,
Did anyone start the test and have to stop halfway? I wonder what I should do in these circumstances. I've tried emailing the company but I haven't got a response. Thanks.
