View Full Version : Question re. Foot Spa...

Hello everyone, I am prepping things to get ready for my first spas, and I wondered what kind of a comfortable position you take to do a foot spa...(do you sit on the floor/or bend over from chair/have guest put foot up on a stool, etc) to put on the foot creme/scrubs/
treatments, etc on your spa guests feet?
Also, how do you rinse the scrubs off; with a dishpan of warm water or a wet towel or?

Also, what kind of time windows do you work within for the spas at work?
I know the last time I worked for a company (thank goodness I am now self-employed and love it)smileys/smiley4.gif that we used to get 2 - 15 min breaks ev 4 hrs, and then either a 1/2 hr or 1 hr lunch break,(can't remember which.)

So it seems that in some work places, people might be pressed for time, so how long are your spas at work?

I was thinking of a 30 min spa, or perhaps 20 min if this is what their time permitted; any ideas on a "mini-spa" or a "busy-woman's spa/facial"?

Thankyou so much everyone, I am so grateful for these wonderful wahm bc boards!

Ann.

Hi Ann!
For the foot spas, I bought thick hand towels (cheap at TJMax, Ross, or Sams Warehouse). These go under the foot tubs. The foot tubs I bought at General Dollar for a couple of dollars. They are the dish tubs. I fill them a little with hot water and bath minerals. Each person soaks their feet for a couple of minutes. Then, I pull the tubs away and pour them out. While I'm pouring them out, each person dries their own feet off with the towel that was under the tub. Then, I go around with foot creme. Each person puts it on their own feet. So, you don't have to touch all those feet! My director only does foot tubs when the employer pays for gift cert. for their employees. She also only does it when she has a few people. I didn't do it at the spa that didn't go well because there were several people (15). At the second work spa, there were only six people and I really wanted to treat them since they take care of my children's teeth. People love the foot tubs. It has really added to my home spas. It takes only a few more minutes and my sales are always more than when I don't use them. It might just be me...I love soaking my feet! Hope this helps!

Hi jenn, thank you for the great ideas re. foot spas.
It does sound easier to let each person apply their own foot creme. I found a inexpensive dish pan at walmart for $2.00; I'll use these for the foot soaking tubs.
I have been trying to find time to just give myself a foot soak with some of the fantastic lux of sea bath crystals!

At the work spas, I find that using the foot tubs, eye pads and neck wraps is awesome - it lets them relax, while you play the SPA CD and run through a relaxation exercise. Then give them some hand and foot lotions at the end, and they can go back to work refreshed. And it doesn't take long - 10-15 minutes tops.
