Hi ladies,
I am signing up with Mia Bella in Feb with Fast Start Pack. WOOOHOOO
I asked my best freind would she buy a candle from me if I sell them. She asked how much, and I answered, "For you, I will sell you 15.00" and she said, "I will buy one as a favor since you are my best friend. However, I don't spend 15.00 for a candle."
Do you have people complain about the price? I think that is my concern with the price if I am going to retail those candles. How much do you guys usually price them so that you are making money, and at the same time, the customers are happy about the price.

Hey there~
I don't sell candles but I just wanted to say that I would probably pay $15 for a candle...if it was a good size and had a really good smell. I spend about $20 for all my Yankee ones :D Maybe you should ask around with your other friends and see if they think it is a high price or a reasonable price. Everyone's community differs on what they think is affordable...

I sell mine for the suggested retail price of 18.95. However when I have a costumer that buys more than one at a time I give a discount on the second one!!!</font>

Maybe she will change her mind about paying more for a candleafter she burnsa quality candleand sees how clean the burn is and the awesome scent throw. I have burned alot of candles and bought many cheap ones in recent years and I wasn't impressed, but I must say the Mia Bella candles are great.

When you are at her house ask her to show you what brand she usually buys, have her burn them side by side and compare them. Once she notices the soot and wax all over the other jar, and that our candle is still burning hours after the other one goes out, she will be impressed.
However, I have a couple cheap friends that don't seem to mind those cheap ones at the dollar store - but those kind of people are not candle lovers either.
I sell mine for the full retail price and discount if they purchase in bulk or if I am at a craft fair only.
Good luck! smileys/smiley1.gif The Fast Start pack is awesome!!Edited by: lovethiscandle

If she's not used to paying that price - I have a feeling she will change her mind after burning the Mia Bella. Dollar Store, Wal Mart, etc candles smell ok when you put your nose to the candle, but once you burn them, you cannot smell them at all. Been there, done that. One of my customers was a burner ofthe "Y" brand- she told me the comparisons in scent alone between that one - and ours - was no comparison. Ours won her votehands down because she could actually smell it when it burned!Edited by: dreamakr36

Another important thing to remember is that you have to find your target
audience. You will probably never convince someone who is happy with a
cheapie walmart candle that burns with lots of black soot and a sink hole
down the middle that they should buy a $20 candle- regardless of the
quality. If they're happy with the $7 candle that's what they will stick
with.
But keep in mind that there are thousands of people who love GOURMET
scented candles and are willing to pay for the quality, long lasting, better
burning and stronger scented candle that we offer. People pay $20 for
certain brand name candles that are popular on the market, and those are
the people who will happily pay $20 for our cleaner burning, healthy
alternative candles!
Don't short sell our product- we offer the best candle money can buy at
a competetive price. They're worth every penny! Find your target market
and you'll have many happy customers who have no problem spending
$18.95 for our candles.
Congratulations on your new business venture!

Actually I was surprised at how cheap these candles are - I was paying a lot more for a soy candle that did not compare to Mia Bellas. I was so happy to find this company smileys/smiley4.gif

I also sell at suggest retail of 18.95 and 2/33.00 and not really had any problems. Once they burn the candle and see how CLEAN it burns they will be glad they did. One of the other posters mentioned YC being a bit higher...than ours so its a comparative price!
Goodluck!

HLD,
Welcome to Mia Bella. You will love this business. You will find that you will come across people that will turn their nose up at $18.95 for a candle. If they do those are not the people you want to focus on because they will probably not change their mind.(some do but some don't) There are different types of candle users, some will buy dollar store candles and be as happy as can be which is fine if those make them happy. Then you will find people that want quality(the real candles addicts, like myself, lol....)and will pay whatever you are asking for your candles. Have confidence in your product and don't lower your price for anyone and they will try your candles and fall in love and be back for plenty more. If you start discounting them they will sense your uncertainty and question the candles in their mind. If you stand behind what you sell and let them see how awesome these candles REALLY are they will be back over and over. If they turn their nose up just move on to the next person because they are out there in droves. Good luck.
Tammy
