I'm enjoying reading more about how you use your goody bags. Please post your tips and explain why you don't use it (if you don't) or why you only use it sometimes. Thanks!

I am ashamed to say that I do not use the goody bag. The thought almost horrifies me! Partly b/c I hate talking in front of people about myself and partly b/c I feel it's a little hokey. (Sorry). I don't know why. But I do know that if I try to do something that I don't believe myself--I'm not going to be able to sell it and I really want to recruit! So I need to find a way for it to not seem so hokey to me. However that may be. That's where all your wonderful thoughts come in.

The ideas that have been shared have helped! Like to put a product in it explaining the benefits of the discount. And that using it actually provides words to break the ice and to share. I definitely could use that! I'm quite the bumbling idiot!

Thanks so much for sharing! I love all you ladies--you are all fantabulous! I've gained alot on how to treat this like a business and not justanother way to get a discount on products I love.

Hi Everyone,

The concept of the goody bag terrified me at the begining. The first timeI introduced it, my co-worker laughed at me. She found it silly. I kept changing the items as I went because I was told It was a good recruiting tool and I'm willing to use anything that can help me get the message across.

I also have a dream of building a team of wonderful ladies and grow in the business. I found out that in order to makeit less unconfortable you have to make it yours. The idea is to tell a story with visuals that help others understand what BCmeans to you and can do for them. I put items that signify myWhy I'm in this business. It isto buy the best products at a discount, to stay home with your family andto meet women and touch their lives and make good money. I talk about how being in BChas affectedmy life, hopes, and dreams.I had to get deep insidemy soul to put together my goodie bag in order to create a compelling story that will helpme buildmy dream team.

I also thought the Goody Bag was a little corny in the beginning. And actually, now that I think about it, I still think it's corny! smileys/smiley36.gif But I use it faithfully anyway. The way I see it the women come to the spa not just to relax but also to have fun. So I try to make my Goody Bag fun. For instance, I went to Wal-Mart and boughta sexy bright red bra lined with black lace. I tell them that "I keep this in here because BeautiControl is very supportive and uplifting." It always gets a good chuckle. I've also known other consultants to put in a pair of pantyhose and say that "they get great support from BC." I also keep a $1000 bill in there. During the relaxation part I've told them to imagine that I've dropped a $1000 bill in their lap and tell them to think about what they would do with it. Then when I pull the $1000 bill out of my Goody Bag I ask them what they did with their $1000 bill. Then I explain that just by holding 1 or 2 spas per week they can add $1000 to their family's monthly income. Then I also have a small NT Bible in there. I tell them that I keep this in there to remind me that God gave me this job to bring meout of the corporate workplace and back into the home where I belong. I also tell them that my job is also my ministry and that if any of them need prayer that I would love to pray for them.

So anyway, corny, hokey, or whatever, I'm a believer in the Goody Bag! And it doesn't hurt that I'm a little corny myself!!! smileys/smiley4.gif

You go!!!!- Amy. The Goody Bag seems to represent to most ladiesI've talked to that use it in their spas, a personal aspect as to why they joined BC. I know I joined for financial reasons- I put something that stresses that into my bag, but I also joined to be with my family- I find that as my children get older that time with them is so precious!! I make my Goody Bag special but I also know that even though we are all different, our needs and wants are somewhat the same. Put things into your bag like Amy and the others said, then share what BC doesin every part of your life. Women do wear so many different "hats" and so we are prone to more stress- so helping other women relieve some of that stress is a great thing. I know that God has definitely helped me to meet other women who are where I was- I think that I use this as my ministry of giving and if I do my part to help someone else, then MY blessings will also come. So I am a believer in the Goody Bag too- they say that visual aide is a great way to get a point across. By me having the personal things I pull from my bag, I am showing a picture to the other ladies of how things can also be different for them if they need what I did. I ,too have trouble talking and sometimes I wind up rambling -so I decided to use the Goody Bag. It has helped me to keep focused and not go way out into left field. Try it once and if you don't think it helps you then it may be something that you don't need- no sense in you being stressed if you feel too uncomfortable with it.

Have a great afternoon!

Amy,

I LOVE your bra idea!! I got a good chuckle from it myself, so it must work!

Isn't it amazing how blessed we feel just by making others feel better? I find it to be very ministering and rewarding. I usually pray over the women while I'm massaging their hands.

I heard from consultants who feel like they arebragging with the goody bag, say " let me show you what my company offers"

ex. a picture of your kids, my company offers me time with my kids and allows me to set my own schedule, so that I never have to miss an important event due to work.

or say My Company can offer you more time with your family.

I always use my goody bag. I had problems at first because I felt it was "cheesy". The more I use it the easier it gets. I have a tendency to be scattered brained. If I didn't use it, there is no telling where my train of throught would take us. (if you haven't noticed by my postssmileys/smiley36.gif) I have seen some consultants that use it to tell how wonderful BC is for them and sometimes it does sound like bragging. I try to make it "all about you", not "all about me".

I have a small "Twisted Whisker" stuffed dog that I start with. It is a great ice breaker! His ears stick straight out, his hair stands straight up and his eyes are HUGE! They always laugh and say "that looks like me!" I tell them that's the way I felt working in the corporate world and I'm sure they can relate.

Think about what you related to and the reasons you joined. Incorporate that into your goody bag. I'm still "tweaking" mine all the time.

Have a great day!Edited by: MissChievious

Hi, Mrs. Snipesand everyone!!

I read through all your posts about the Goody Bag and I agree with all of you. I initially thought the Goody Bag was hokey too, which is one reason that I think of it in my mind as a Share and Care bag. Our business is something that can change the lives of so many people and I know this from consultants on my team. When you share with them what BeautiControl has to offer them, you are showing that you care. I know a friend of mine explains what it has done for her and how that could represent something in their life. Always make your bag relateable to them. Explain that with BC you have been able to ____ and that you know some many others that it has helped in that area. In fact, the Bra that Amy Snipes, my wonderful friend, mentioned is key. You don't have to put a bra in yours but think about the uplifting and supportive nature of BC (if you don't know this first hand, go to Leadership and Celebration and you will never doubt it again!). Women need this business! Use the Goody Bag - go Share and Care about women and know that by caring about them you will in turn be rewarded!

God Bless you All!

MRS. Walding!!! Hey girlfriend!!! So how's the newlywed?

I likeyour idea of calling it a "Share & Care Bag"! And I agree about Leadership & Celebration. That's where a new consultant really "catches the vision" and gets a true understanding of how wonderful our company is!

It's good to see you back on the board and I can't wait to see you next month at Leadership!!! smileys/smiley1.gif

I just remembered another way of identifying the "goody bag" now that I read "Share & Care." (Love that!) The trainer at BU called hers a "wish bag." I think I like Share and Care alot! Thanks!!

Do any of you pass the bag around and have each guest pull out something from the bag? Or do you do it all yourself?

I do use my goody bag! It just makes it more easy for me to introduce the company and the products and why I like them and how each of the items in my bag may relate to someone else. I use a bra also! TOo funny! I use a watch and/ or wedding picture of my husband and I (we got married in July 05) to say that this job gives me time to be with those that I love and to make my own schedule. I use a lei to say that we get to go on trips! I use the $1000 dollar bill and have them thinking about what they could do with an extra $1000 a month. The goody bag is a fun way to open the party and introduce yourself. After I do the goody bag, then I tell them that since they have gotten a chance to know me and where the products come from, now I am going to show them how the products work.

I don't carry a bra in mine, but I do have a pom-pom. I tell them with BC you always have your team cheering you on. I use the lei too and a postcard my director sent me from Hawaii.

BIG believer in the goody bag here!</span>smileys/smiley32.gif<br style="color: rgb(204, 0, 0);">I do think it's kinda cheesy but it is a good conversation starter and last time I used it, I got all kinds of compliments on it (such as "that was so cute!" and "I've never seen anything like that!")
I am still tweaking mine, but right now there is a cut-up Visa gift card (get rid of debt), a small BC product (sign up for the discount), a watch (control your time), a bra (BC is uplifting &amp; supportive--borrowed that one from someone on here--I forget who had the idea I got it from!smileys/smiley5.gif but thanks!), a toy red Mustang convertible (want that car!), the $1000 bill (earn extra money), a palm tree figurine (I wanna go to Hawaii!), a disposable camera (create new memories for my family), and a pic of my family (what motivates me to do this.)

You're welcome!smileys/smiley4.gif</span><br style="color: rgb(204, 0, 0);">It was suggested by one of the trainers at BeautiU. I figure, what can it hurt to "borrow" their ideas--after all, look where THEY are!smileys/smiley2.gif</span>

I have a car with Mickey Mouse in it. This gets a lot of laughs because it is two fold. They have to pretend that it is a mustang and that Mickeyrepresents the tripto see him. I put my celebration name tag with all the ribbons on it in my bag. To me, it represents the training, recognition and fun that I have in BeautiControl! This Celebration I want to get a picture of all of my BC friends to put in the bag.

My Daughter's picture is also in the bag. I do this to give her every advantage life has to offer. My BC money helps keep her in the school we want her to attend and that makes it worth it!

I am enjoying reading what is in everyone's goody bag. It was uncomfortable at first using it. Now I have items that mean something to me and that makes a big difference.
