And yes, this is so totally the WRONG folder for this, but with all the bad news getting posted, well.... it's good to see good news to balance it out!

I woke up from my afternoon nap, and my honey tells me we can't do grocery shopping this week cause we have 25 bucks left in the account. I let him handle all of the money stuffs on his end, so it was a bit of a shock to me. This is the very first time in over two years that he hasn't been able to pull everything together.

But, about a month ago, I did a HUGE grocery shopping trip and stocked the house so full of food and toiletries, it will last us 3 months at least. I learned to do this a long time ago when we weren't sure if/when we'd have money to do shopping again. At the time, he said I was being silly cause he knows he'll get paid every two weeks, and will have it budgeted for groceries. *grins* I so love it when I'm right! *laughs*

So, the past month, I've been having him restock what we use. This way, we're never out of food. He tells me he can't go grocery shopping, then I tell him just how much we have. Then I griped at him for not keeping up with stuff and telling me sooner! I had just spent over a hundred bucks getting the home office set up. That could have been grocery money. But, what's done is done.

So, we sit down for dinner. We do our usual talking, chatting, goofing around with the kids. Twenty minutes later, dinner is done and I come to the computer.

My West welcome email came today. I just signed up for the D* skill, and will be training tonight while everyone is asleep. I have a job again! YES! I didn't want D*, but the other one was a two week assignment, then no telling when I'd be offered another skill. So, I went this route. I can do this while I search out my other 'eggs'.

Yayness party time!!!!!!!!!

(Sorry for placing in the wrong spot guys.)

Danna, congrats on Sutherl@nd! I'm happy for you.

Here's to all of us having a happier holidays!

Happybrat, I've never heard of the grocery game. My habit of stocking up comes from my fear of going hungry again. There were times in our lives when we had nothing at all to eat. I'd have to steal bread and tuna or peanut butter just to feed my kid. I tried giving him up to the state, and they wouldn't take him. I couldn't get food stamps. So, I was left with that option only.

Now, I get scared that we'll get there again. I look at a partially empty cupboard, or a half filled freezer, and just go nuts. That irrational fear served us well this week. *laughs*

I'll check out your grocery game thing too. :) Thanks for the lead on saving money on groceries!

I wish you the very best. Do not be a stranger on WAHM because you are a working stiff. I amalso testing for CS work and Data Entry. "for 2 different companies" I'm trying to get a bunch of side jobs lined up. My husband and I own a contracting company already and winter slows down work.
