No this is not an at home job, but it does pay quickly sometimes...same day and there is some flexiblity. With Xmas fast approaching I know there are many of us looking for some fast cash. I did this over the summer with my mom. We teamed up, got some exercise and made some cash. It was fun. Call 1-800-733-9675, give them your zipcode and they can tell you if they need some help in your area.

I did this years ago and can vouch for its authenticity. Word of advice: pick the packs that have apartments in them. Very easy to do!

I hated delivering phone books. It was a huge gas bill by driving house to house to house. Not my cup of tea.

Not so many apartments by me. And it was like...5 cents a phone book. NOT worth it. :)

Bummer...I had picked up booklets that paid $50 and all the addresses were the same. We left 100 phone books in the foyer - took all of 10 minutes to unload. Of course, they were not all like that but we just parked and walked it.

What works for some may not work for others. Right now there are a ton of people that can't afford to "hate" a job because they need the money to feed their kids. My mom and I worked it out and the gas was not bad ( I drive and expedition. While I dropped the books on the steps she would stop about every 5 house and leave 5 books. When all books were out she would park and help me finish. I am scared of what the furture holds in terms of the economy so I am trying to make every dollar I can. No I don't want to go from house to house to drop off books, but I don't want to see my kids on Xmas morning without gifts...I guess it is the lesser of two evils.

I did this once years ago. It was in Northern NJ. Not a bad way to pick up a few dollars but beware if you are in a congested area like I was the phone books are big and are going to be heavy! It was a lot of weight for the vehicle even for my suv. I had to make several trips back and forth to pick up the books not only for the weight factor but because I could only fit so many of them in my vehicle at one time.
I did apartments too and that did help with gas.

I can't afford to 'hate' a job either, pink. But I also can't afford to work for 10 hours for 20 bucks. All that would be going right back in the gas tank. And I don't have my mommy to help me either.
Just not worth it for me. The phone books were humongous too.
So. You have fun delivering those phone books. :)

We did this when I was a kid. We only did rowhome or apartment streets. It was a family effort. The kids were in charge of bagging the books and passing them up to a grownup. We had so much fun doing it. (Mostly because we knew it was Christmas money and the present closet was still empty!) It really is a great way to get some fast cash around the holidays if you can find neighborhoods where the homes are close together.

I did this about 2 years ago and will not be doing it again. I have small children so figured I could take them with me (no mom to help me either...) So that took away space for the books. The place where the books were was about 30 miles away. Had to keep making trips back to get the books...not fun. Also, there was some rule where if there were businesses that you had to get a certain number to sign that they received the books. I did do this and a lot of the businesses didn't even want the books said that they used the internet instead....
Anyway, I took my paperwork back. They didn't believe that I had delivered the books (which I did!) And didn't get paid when I was supposed to. So they apparently sent someone else out delivering the books (how do I know? because it was for my area...)so after they delivered and probably went to the same businesses that I did etc...I actually got my payment!
So no, not doing that again:)

I delivered today...made $90.23 for a little over 6 hours of work (and no my mommy didn't help). Fpr the record my mommy and I split the route and the money because we both needed. Times are hard for a lot of people. I have picked up many leads from this board that turned out positive. I posted this lead in hopes of helping someone find a little extra money to make their christmas a little brighter. If this was not for you OK, but please don't discourage someone who hasn't tried it but needs the money. We can't always find something we like...sometimes we do things out of need. There is so much negativity and sarcasm here I see why people hate posting leads. Maybe if some of you let some of your negativity go then you will get a job or at least some experience so that you can find something you LIKE to do.

No I never said it wasn't a good lead... In fact I think that it is a very good lead:)
I said it wasn't for me and I know that there are a lot of moms of little kids here that are in the same boat that I am. I thought it would be easier to do before I did it and I didn't want other moms of little kids to think that it would be very easy to do with the SMALL kids in the car. If you have older ones, then yeah they can probably help and have fun doing it.
Leads are going to be discussed on this board, so sorry if not evry comment on your lead is possitive. That's just the way it is. This board is where people come to post leads and for the leads to be discussed what works for some does not work for others.
By the way I have a very big route and I made about $126 if I remember correctly. And that was not split with anyone else by the way.
And yes I know that times are hard right now. I have some jobs that I do not really like to do right now but I do them because I am happy that I at least have them. I just would never put my kids through that again is all.
