My sister currently works at the school in the Special Needs Department. She is paid very little and especially for the work she does. She has been talking about babysitting.

Can anyone tell me in the state of Indiana what is the minimum # of children you can have without a state license? http://www.wahm.com/forum/smileys/smiley5.gif

You can do a search. In Michigan you are not supposed to watch unrelated children without a license.

Hi! She can watch no more than 5 children that are unrelated to her without applying for a license:

Licensing is not required for a child care home if the provider:

(1) does not receive regular compensation;

(2) cares only for children who are related to the provider;

(3) cares for less than six (6) children, not including children for whom the provider is a parent, stepparent, guardian, custodian, or other relative; or

(4) operates to serve migrant children.
