I am interested in learning how to process claims in the insurance industry. It can be auto, medical, or whatever. I just want to get into this field, and eventually work from home. From most of the posts that I have read here, alot of you are insurance agents. But is there anyone here who handles the paperwork side if the deal? Thanks for responding. Edited by: wahm23angels

Yes, I work at home for a large health insurance company. In order to work at home, you have to work in the office and prove you can do the work by meeting production and quality standards. It's a nice gig, full benefits, they pay for internet and provide computer, desk and chair.
I would visit all the career boards like monster, etc and search out Wellpoint (Blue Crosses) , Cigna, Aetna, Humana, Wellcare, and United.
There's insurance overload sytems and the Jacobsons group- they sometimes need temp help in claims. I got my start as a temp and learned on the job. If you have some kind of health background, or good with numbers, details, etc, I would apply even if your skills do not match up with what they are looking for. You will be in a training class anyway for 3 months learning their system. Good Luck to you.

Thanks snkwah, I figured I would have to work onsite for a while to learn the system and the job. So I will take your advice and do some researching. Thanks for responding.

You are welcome. I have come to appreciate this job more. I think more companies will be sending people home who can do work from home to save money.
I have saved so much money on gas, car maintenance, clothes. It's just now when I want to go out, I have nothing good to wear. It's just jeans, sweatpants, and my PJ's.
