O.k., I place my first order tonight and part of that was a couple customer orders. My question is: How are all of you calculating the customers s&h? Do you charge a % of the order total or do you justcharge a flat fee? Or do you just absorb the s/h costs, reducing your profit? Thanks for the help and the wonderful advice.

I charge all my customers shipping and it depends on how much they are getting..If they order about 3 to 6 jars, I use a flat rate 8.10 priority box...you can go to www.usps.com (http://www.usps.com) and plug in your est weight and customer zip and your zip and use that. I always add a dollar to 2 because the packing makes it a bit heavier.
So really it depends on how much it weighs..

Hi, Kim! For local people I did not initiallycharge shipping costs, but I have changed my mind. Most people kind of expect it at parties. I am thinking of a flat fee of $2 per order at a show or if I have to order it for a local customer. If it is cash 'n' carry then I will not charge it.

If I have to ship even locally I charge shipping and have no complaints. Some will meet me places and if thats the case then no..but if I have to send it , I still charge. :)

What I usually do is charge .50 per order form if I don't have the item they want. If I do have the item then I don't charge the .50 fee.
