Hi Danielle,

You bring up a very good point. I have actually thought about this more and more in recent months. This is why I have put my alot of my focus into building my own website and more into local market. I feel like messages boards are a wonderful place to build a team but not the only place.

I hope that helps you in some way!

Many Blessings,

Natalie

I talk to people outside the world of wahm.com. I talk to local people here at craft shows etc that I go to. I don't generally pm unless requested because I figure they are getting enough. I find that other boards and my siggy line on moms groups etc that I am part of draws more interest than to always look here.

We mostly are just really excited to share our enthusiasm for our products and company. I can't speak for the rest of the reps here, but my focus is on sales mainly and obtaining fundraisers not recruitment. Its a nice perk and I will gladly talk to anyone who wants to know about it.

Best of luck to you, and we are here if you have any questions. smileys/smiley17.gif

WAHM is an awesome place to meet people and share ideas, and there are dozens of other sites to meet people and make a connection.

Not to mention Search Engines, ezines, etc.

And, the offline world is pretty good too!

Hi Danielle!

I do the majority of my team building based on leads I receive
from my personal website. I am quick to respond here because
I really just love to talk to people about our business!

It's probably the teacher in me.. I am a Special Educator turned
WAHM. I have an inherent drive to guide people.smileys/smiley2.gif

Truthfully, there are MANY ways to recruit people, if sponsoring
is an area of the business you wish to pursue.

Local advertising
Reorder customers
Personal Website
Fliers
Sizzle Cards
Vendor Blendors
School/church charity auctions
Old fashioned hitting the pavement with our door hangers
Sharing your passion with everyone you meet
Handing out scent samples to everyone and tucking them into
your bill payments!
Purchasing leads
Attending Job fairs

and on and on. Really, all you need is a little creativity and a
devoted daily effort- even if it is just 10-15 minutes a day that
you commit to getting the word out about your business or
sharing a candle or scent sample with someone.

It is important to work your business from as many angles and
in as many areas as possible. If you limit yourself to one point
of contact for recruiting, you are limiting your potential to be
successful!

Danielle, when someone requests information, I think most of us will most likely send you info. There are alot of different gals here all with diffent personalities and methods. It is up to YOU to decide who you mesh with and go from there.

Message boards can be VERY competitive becuase for every ONE of you....there are 10 of US! That fact alone can bevery overwhelming! smileys/smiley5.gif

There are many ways to market outside of this board. These scent-sational candles smell so wonderful, that to NOT share them with someone face to face is doing such an injustice to them!!

And everyone loves candles, so you dont have to worry about finding customers or recuits. They are literally everywhere!! smileys/smiley20.gif

Start with your "warm market". that is where you will feel most comfortable until you learn all the aspects of the business.

It is a wonderful business and us girls here are just so excited to share it!! smileys/smiley2.gif

I don't have any team members from offline recruiting yet - just LOTS of retail customers smileys/smiley36.gif

I believe if they didn't have someone local to get their candles from, that they would. I have one lady that consistantly buys 4-6 candles a month.

I would welcome local offline recruits and think it would open up another world of helping and supporting each other, even if it's helping with case orders if they have gaps to fill. In the mean time, until that day comes, I will recruit everywhere and everyway I possibly can.
