I just received Karen Phelps Oct. e-newsletter and I had to share this with you all. I smileys/smiley27.gifsmileys/smiley27.gifed the Weebles when I was a child. (I know I'm showing my agesmileys/smiley9.gif.) I thought she made some great points that others might find encouraging also. May we all be Weebles!

<A name=6_Steps_to_Becoming_a_Weeble_>6 Steps to Becoming a Weeble</A>

Do you remember the Weebles? You know, the toys from long ago that because of their rounded bottoms were impossible to knock down. In fact the Weeble jingle was "Weebles wobble but they don't fall down." We all need to become a Weeble. Now, I'm not talking about the rounded bottom part (although mines pretty round) I'm talking about the resiliency to falter a little and still catch yourself and move on! Are you someone who struggles to maintain consistency and harmony in their business and life?

Here are six ways we can all become a Weeble.

W - Weebles are Winners. They are in the game to win. They set goals, create and action plan and never give up, no matter what. They don't allow economic situations, politics, or anything else to get them off course. They are constantly adjusting their strategies and tactics to continually move them in the direction of their goals. They view obstacles as setbacks and refuse to give up. "Greatness is not in where we stand, but in what direction we are moving. We must sail sometimes with the wind and sometimes against it -- but sail we must and not drift, nor lie at anchor." Oliver Wendell Holmes

E - Weebles are Educated. Weeble understand the importance of continual education. No matter how much they know they are always eager to learn more. Weebles attend meetings, trainings and conventions and continually seeking others to help them improve. Weeble Leaders also realize the importance of educating their team and spreading the knowledge. Weebles invest in themselves with training and motivational materials to help them improve their personal and business life. "Your ability to learn faster than your competition is your only sustainable competitive advantage." Ari Du Gues

E - Weebles are Enthusiastic. Weebles believe it's better to do something small with enthusiasm to have the chance of creating something big! Weebles have great attitudes and everyone wants to be around Weebles. They are enthusiastic about their life, their goals and the ability to help others. They maintain a positive attitude at all times and refuse to let others bring them down. Weebles love life! "When you discover your mission, you will feel its demand. It will fill you with enthusiasm and a burning desire to get to work on it." W. Clement Stone

B - Weebles have strong Beliefs. They know what they stand for. Weebles believe in themselves, the company, the product and opportunity. You don't have to convince a Weeble to do what is right, they already have done it. They know self-limiting beliefs will stop the forward movement toward their goals so they continually tell themselves, "I can do anything." They have taken time to fully understand the benefits their company has to offer and work tirelessly helping others to understand these benefits. They know they have something great to offer and do so without concern for themselves. "The thing always happens that you really believe in; and the belief in a thing makes it happen." Frank Lloyd Wright

L - Weebles are Legendary Leaders©. Leaders know they can get everything in life they want, when they help enough other people get what they want. Legendary Leaders are loyal to the company and promote company policies and procedures. They have strong ethics and lead according to the Golden Rule. They see each person as an individual who has the potential to become anything they want to be, but realize everyone has their own agenda and not all will succeed. They refuse to let someone's lack of success prevent them from sharing the opportunity with others, knowing full well the next superstar may at their next party! They are willing to pitch in to help when needed. "Leadership can be thought of as a capacity to define oneself to others in a way that clarifies and expands a vision of the future." Edwin H. Friedman

E - Weebles are Encouragers. Weebles know everyone needs someone who is on their side. Whether it is a child or a team member, they are always encouraging others to do their best. They know a quick encouraging phone call can make the difference of whether a consultant leaves or stays. They are honest and deliberate when dealing with others and try to get others to see the potential they may not be able to see themselves. "One of the most beautiful gifts in the world is the gift of encouragement. When someone encourages you, that person helps you over a threshold you might otherwise never have crossed on your own." John O'Donohue

So...are you ready to become a WEEBLE? Are you ready to dig your heels in and keep on going, no matter what? Are you ready to quit making excuses an begin making plans? Are you ready to begin creating a
