Hi Everyone,

I'm new to this board. I'm a Unit VIP. I was a Unit Manager, but have had some people fall off and have dropped down a level.

Anyway, I was looking for ideas to get started in a new area. When I started out the first time, I had friends to help me get started. I just recently moved to a new state where I don't know anyone and need some ideas to get someone to hold my first spa for me. I have been handing out samples stapled to my business card and a catalog everywhere I go, but no leads yet.

I am thinking about doing some drawing boxes. I read a few posts back about someone asking about those. I did a few of those back in my old area. I had pretty good luck with them. I decorated a box with blue paper and cut out some product pictures from an old catalog. I put on there to win a free spa treatment. Then I called everyone! I asked them that if they had any friends they wanted to share their "prize" with, I'd be happy to pamper them as well. And if they had 5 friends, they'd get a gift (the neck wrap, tingler, or Spa CD). Sometimes they just wanted to see what the product was like first, then they'd book a spa from me. Occasionally, I put a "sunburst" sticker on the corner of the box promoting a spring/summer/march/holiday/whatever special to win an extra$25 worth of product. It was a good deal because it only costs me $12.50 and they or their friends end up buying more than that anyway.

Anyway... any more ideas onhow to meetpeople andget them to hold my first spa for me?

Thanks! You guys seem like a lot of fun with lots of fun ideas!

I just received today a new flier from my "adopted" director. You can hand this out to employers and it has a few statistics on stress in the workplace and offers to bring the Spa ESCAPE experience to the office.

Here's another idea and something I am thinking about doing at the local Curves. On your drawing box you could give away a Spa Beauti Set and a free Spa Facial. However, note on there that there will be one Beauti Set given away but EVERYONE wins a free Spa Facial. Then call everyone who entered and book a one-on-one makeover with them and you can tell them that they could even bring a friend. When they have their makeover, if they can't afford to purchase everything that they'd like you can encourage them to book a Spa ESCAPEso that they can get what they want at a discount.

Jennifer,

How long have you been a consultant?

I moved from TX to IL almost 1 1/2 years ago. For me, I got to know some of my neighbors and had them come over to relax with me. It was very casual and no pressure. They all booked a spa! So that worked very well for me.

Also, I did booths to get exposure. BeautiControl is not as well known here so it does require some out of the box thinking. The leads at the booth were great! I am signing a new consultant soon from the one I did last fall. I contacted the chamber of commerce, got involved with my Daughters school and church groups. I haven't had time to join any Mommy's clubs, but that is also something to think about doing if you have kids.

Vote to join our conference call! It will be lots of fun and we will get to know each other better. This is not to replace your own unit meetings, but a way to share ideas and ask questions.

Welcome to the board!

Hi Vicki,

I have been a consultant almost 2 years in April, but I did not start selling until last January. I was able to go to the Bahamas last fall, but like I said, most people have fallen off and I dropped back down to VIP.

I have gotten involved in some Mom Clubs, but it's hard to let that be the first thing out of your mouth. They wonder what's my motivation for joining the club - to get leads, make friends, or what... KWIM? smileys/smiley4.gif

What level are you? Are you going to leadership in Dallas in February? Where in IL are you? I'm in OH.

I voted for the phone conference. How does that work? Is it a 1-800 number, long distance, or what?

Thanks!

Jennifer,

Tess gave us information about a free conference call site. I haven't signed up for the number and pin yet. Most of the time they are not 800 numbers.

I certainly know what you mean about what others think when you join a group! When they ask what I do, I am honest. Some will roll their eyes and some will ask what is BeautiControl.

My anniversary is March 27. It will be 3 years for me. I am just becoming a SR consultant in February. Lifehappened and that is ok! We moved and it does take time to get to know people again. I am fortunate to have all my TXclients still with me!

I don't know if I will be at Leadership or not this year. I am short a couple consultants. No worries! Business is good and the rest will follow! I did get an email that gives me up to the 22nd of February to get there. Anything can happen! I am registered.

We live in Peoria which is central IL. My husband grew up in Chicago and I grew up in Racine, WI. So it is close enough to home for both of us. We lived in the Dallas area for 7 years. I am so happy to go back this weekend!

If you don't see me at Leadership, I definitely will be at Celebration!

Glad you found this board!
