I am very new to the WAH world. I have sat here researching post after post, and site after site. After staying at home with my daughter for awhile, I need to make some income, and realized I can do it from home. I have CSR exp, and can order a headset if need be, but I want to make sure I read about these companies and am part of 3 - 4 sites, this being one. I really would rather do non phone, but can do CSR if the others don't pan out. I guess I am researching at the moment, and this is pretty overwhelming I must say!!! All of your sites say never pay a fee, with the exception of two which have drug test and background fees. Now, I was curious, why does Arise have you pay an initial $13.00 processing fee, $99.00 to take a certification test, and then will charge you $19.95 monthly to wirk for them when you will be an Ind. Cont.???? And why, when you are Ind. Cont. for half these companies is it legit for comp. to charge you for your own drug and background check???? I am rather confused.... I was an Ind. Cont. for years in the mortgage industry and typically if you are w2'd the comp pays. If your Ind. Cont. they can't require you to take one, especially if you are at home. So if it is a stipulation of employment, why aren't they paying for it??? That isn't a big thing, just something to think about, but the Arise thing, if they have these fees why are they on all these lists?? I have come across a few like that, that have fees. Does anyone work for arise, and did they have to pay fees? I am just curious and trying to narrow down my lists... Thanks for your help guys!

I don't know the answer to all your questions. My thought is some companies charge for background checks and drug tests due to high turnover rate they may have. They probably weed out the less serious applicants by doing that?

I don't know much about Arise other than they have LOW turnover and seem to be a great company to work for. Maybe by their higher fees such as certification and monthly, they REALLY weed out the bad seeds?? I dunno---again this is all opinion...not facts!!http://www.wahm.com/forum/smileys/smiley22.gif

Good luck to you in your decision!

They charge you to work for them? Yikes. That doesn't sound very legit to me, but I've honestly never heard of them.

Like you, I read this board thoroughly before joining on with Scentsy. It's importanted to be educated about the decisions you make when wanting to work from home. Ask a lot of questions and don't move forward if something doesn't feel right.

I wish you the best of luck. Feel free to PM me if you need to talk.

Arise is a very legit company. Here's some info about them on their website that will explain the fees.

Gosh, thank you so much for your help on this. helps to hear others replies on this. I read the FAQ page, but if they want to charge the fees to get you to become Inc. to become your own business that makes more sense. I guess I looked at it wrong, but why charge you back the $19.95 fee per month? I guess I just need a company that doesn't charge fees, and if they are looking to keep employees I understand. When I get into a company I do not typically leave. I just need to get started and find a home... But gosh, thanks so much for your responses, and your help, to help me understand. I so appreciate this site and your help.

And thanks Lisa for your invitation. I may do that. This has been a tough journey.

I am just happy to know if I question something I can put it on here and you guys have the knowledge to let me know about it. Thank you. http://www.wahm.com/forum/smileys/smiley1.gif

It actually looks like they charge the 19.95 two times (2x) per month. Eek. How much do people earn doing this?

BTW - thank you to everyone for all the great info I find on here. I have not posted before, but have been "lurking" and learning. I am hoping to find a good non-phone job since I have young children.

Arise is very much legit and an extremely reputable company.

The fees are to incorporate you as a business. Also for training course for specific campaigns and companies. The fee differs depending on the courses and once you have passed it you have access to more work. I currently work D*sn*y ONLY and love...although I am certified for multiple lines. You can definitely make good money with this position if you are to put up with the fees.

But its not for everyone...and not all people want to be their own business, which is quite understandable. Just look a little more into their FAQ session and also view workplacelikehome.com, there is a lot of info available.

I am curious about one other thing - and I am sure it is answered somewhere, but I can't find it.

Is Arise ALL phone work?
