Hey everyone! I am finally introducing the shakes at my parties, and was looking for suggestions for quick and easy healthy shakes using a blender. I don't want to just mix them w/ water, because I can't even drink them that way. I have the chocolate, vanilla, and orange fiber. I am trying to have everyone "taste, feel, smell, and touch" the arbonne difference. Any quick recipe ideas?

Hi -
My friend who brought me onboard with Arbonne had some people over the other night and made some smoothies with the Figure 8. She used soy milk and frozem raspberries with the vanilla and then used soy milk and fresh banana with the chocolate.
I probably would use 1% milk because I have never purchased soy milk, but I tried her recipe and it was really good!
I am rethinking the whole protein shake idea now!

Hi -
There really wasn't a recipe -
For the raspberry one she used 8oz soy milk, one scoop of vanilla Figure8 and then added some frozen raspberries.
For the chocolate it was 8oz soy milk, 1 scoop chocolate Figure8 and a fresh banana.
How simple! And I have to admit they were yummy!
Just think of all the possibilities - I bet chocolate with raspberries would be good or vanilla with strawberries or blueberries or maybe a "berry blast" with a combo of stawberries raspberries and blackberies.

Merlinda,
I hope you like the chews. They won't "make" you lose weight, but they can help if you use them as part of a healthy low calorie eating plan.

I love the berry chews. I agree about the shakes, adding some milk and berries make them so good.

i mix the vanilla and the orange together with 1% milk and it tasts like a Dreamsicle Popsicle!! If I do vanilla without the orange I add different berries - whatever is in season. I highly recommend that you use milk instead of water with all the shakes -- it's a few more calories -- but what a difference in taste! Much creamier!!

I have to say the new peanut butter chews are to die for!!! I am trying to get used to the chai shake. I have tried it with hot water to make it more like hot chocholate and it wasn't too bad. Haha anything to lose weight!

I agree. The peanut butter ones are almost TOO good. I could go overboard if I didn't ration them out! :)
I like the chai, especially mixed with the chocolate or vanilla.
Plain too.
I never tried it warm though! I'll have to do that.

I have to admit I have been putting this off. We have had birthdays and whatever excuse you could look for not to take the weight loss plan seriously. I signed up for the Friday weigh ins and missed one week because the shakes had not arrived. I started at 145 & actually put on a couple more so I am 147 this morning. I find it ridiculous that at 45 I chose not to demonstrate the will power I know I am capable of. I actually committed to myself this morning!
Idrank my firstshake this morning. I used 7 oz soy milk, ½ scoop chocolate, ½ scoop vanilla, ½ a banana and a couple of ice cubes. I put it all in the blender & was quite surprised with the taste. I know it is going to alter my results a bit with the fruit & soy milk since this is not how we are directed to use it but I know I can do this!!

Why do you guys use soy milk?? Is it less calories or just supposed to be better for you? I bought slim fast some months ago & am getting pschyed to go for it. When they are gone I'll probably order the shakes, but truthfully the slim fast shakes are just too easy!!!!

I tried the soy because I saw so many posts on various boards about using it. I have no idea why it is substituted. I bought an organic one because I figured it was better...good question. I think I will do a little research now...

Arbonnebev,
I hear you about premade shakes beingmore conveinient! I use the figure 8 system, but I admit I keep a few atkinsready to drink shakes inmy desk at work in case I don't have time to mix a shake before I leave for work in the morning. If Arbonne did a premade shake I'd be ALL over it!

I found this on the web showing the benefits of soy:
"What has most interested scientists in recent years is the discovery of phytochemicals and the profound benefits of soy on human health. Benefits of soy include promoting heart health and healthy bones, preventing cancer and alleviating menopausal symptoms."
I also feel, from my days on Weight Watchers, that mixing the shake with just water wouldn't be enough calories for me. That's why I mix with soy milk. I do use a low-fat, organic soy. I really try to limit the chemicals I ingest and since I'm a professional gardener, I KNOW what fruits and vegetables are sprayed with! smileys/smiley11.gif
I've been doing the shakes with a healthy dinner for almost 3 weeks now and have lost 4 pounds. On days I'll be at work during lunchI will mix up a shakein the morning, then put it in the freezer until I leave. It's still pretty cold when I get to it at noon! Since I do work as a gardener, I don't have access to a refrigerator or anything!
Hope this helps.

Hi -
I personally stay away from soy products. I was diagnosed with estrogen positive breast cancer and have heard both positive and negative things about soy for women in my situation, so I just prefer to avoid it.
