I use my paypal account for receiving payments from certain clients as I am sure a lot of us do. Lately I have picked up a client that has me doing a very large project that is very lucrative. I have already received a significant sum , well significant to what you normally see go through paypal.

I am concerned about whether they may suspend my account for "Suspected fraud" etc. The activity isnt fraudulent, but it could look such from the naked eye.

Anywho, have any of you had experience with getting your paypal account suspended, and if so, how much headache was it to get your money back, and were you able to do so?

I have taken some of the money out, but based on what I have seen, if you take out too much at one time, that triggers their fraud flags too.

Just some insight would be nice into your dealings with paypal. If you don't wish to discuss in public forum, feel free to PM me.

Thanks all.

I have been using PayPal for over 2 years for freelance writing. I've received payments of $800 and upwards with no trouble. Hope this helps!

Hmm Maybe they think someone other than you was trying to access your money. Guess you'll have to call them and find out. Good Luck!

I have had mine suspended. Turned out there was someone else in the same town I lived in who had the same name and a similar email address who owed them money. So rather than finding out if i was the same person or not, they blocked my account and it took 2 months to get it straightened out. I had over 300 in there at the time that i could not access until it was cleared.

Once it cleared up, I pulled my money, detached the bank account and closed my account. I will never use them again.

Every time I called, I had to explain it all over again. They made ME provide proof that I was not the only person with my name living in my area code. I feel it was handled poorly and I did not appreciate it.

ESPECIALLY when I found out the other person owed less than 10$.

I have never had mine suspended, I had over $7,000 deposited into my account once, but I refunded it immediately because someone was trying to scam me and I had a bad feeling. But I would think if they wouldn't suspend it with that much money deposited, they probably won't just based on the amount of money you're receiving.

I haven't had it happen yet. I was just curious as to the likelyhood. I remember a few years back there was a lot of problems.

One of my clients apparently hasn't had issues either.

Tcray, I'm glad you aren't having issues. Makes me feel better about it.

Is your company a MLM? Paypal does not play well with MLM companies.

For large amounts, it is better to get a premier account, it is less likely to be suspended.

I would verify that it is paypal. I have heard of people sending out email stating it is paypal and have scammed people into giving their info. They are real convincing.

Luckily, I've never had my account suspended, but know people who have. It took MONTHS for them to getto their money, but once they did, they pulled it all outand won't use paypal again. I still use them with no problems. Glad you aren't having issues yet, but you are smart to check it out in case it ever happens.

For the person that asked, no, it is not a MLM.

I already have a premier account. Someone else mentioned to me that premiers are less likely to be suspended. So that is good.

The payments have all went through without issue and the large project with them is done. I've taken some out and paid a couple bills with the debit card...so Ill just run with it from here.
