Seeking a copy editor / proofreader for quarterly magazine for the National Flute Association. Must be experienced copy editor with familiarity with Chicago Manual of Style 15th ed; music familiarity a plus, especially regarding titles, program format, footnote and biblio citations, terminology, etc. Familiarity with Word required; familiarity with Quark a plus. High-speed internet access required. Must be able to work rapidly (about a 5-day turnaround for an 80-90-page publication) mostly via e-mail. Access to a scanner and/or fax a plus, but not a requirement. </DIR>
Pay rate: $20/hr for max. of 10-15 hours per issue, four times annually. Contact me directly by email only at the address below. Include resume and brief cover letter; qualifying applicants will be sent PDFs of sample articles, along with in-house stylesheet, and asked to proofread and return them within a week.
