tips!

My party last night was awesome! $500 in sales with 4 people in attendance, and outside orders yet to be figured in. And the hostess signed, and got bookings!

Thought we'd share some hostess coaching & party tips!

--I do: bring 1 friend get 1/2 price shipping, bring 2 friends and get free shipping. This really works.

--Personal invites!

--on the order form, highlight the 5th and 10th line. When you pass out the order forms, ask someone to be sure to ask you about it sometime in the beginning of the party. When they ask, say "When you get down to the highlighted line, take 10% off that item!)

--When I demo a big item, I make sure to tell them how they can get it 1/2 price! smileys/smiley2.gifOne person booked to get the Think-it-Through Tiles set for 1/2 off!

--Have fun!!!!!

What are your tips?

I love the whole "Bring a
friend, get XYZ" thing. I've never been to a party that did that,
but I wish reps would!! I always do bring a friend get a free
gift (and I let them choose from a basket of trial size shampoos, salt
scrubs, shea butter, etc)</span>

When I hosted the Discovery
Toys party last month, one thing that rep did was very simple.
She was *nice*. Very kind to me on the phone, told me I was doing
great with the guest list, etc. Just her being so nice really
impressed me. Now I didn't end up having high sales, but I did
have 10 pple in attendance, so she got about 8 new customers!
Plus, by her being so nice, it makes me more apt to host a show for her
in the future.</span>

One thing I did when I was with Longaberger was Hostess Stacking</span>. Pick someone from the audience to act the part as "hostess" (all they have to do is sit theresmileys/smiley36.gif) You then say

If Lisa has a show she gets </span>(hand her gift...) </span>just as a free thank you from me. When she has 9 guests or more she will get this free salad dressing mix</span>. (put that on her lap).</span>

Then lets say she has $500 in
sales...she could choose this large Market Basket for half price and
this set of dishes for $x.</span> (put those on her lap)</span>

Then at the end its very impressive when you say "Sally
Hostess spent $50 to get all of this stuff at a show. The retail
value of everything is $250! If you'd like to get stuff for
yourself at a huge discount, see me after the show and I'll help you
make out a wishlist!</span>"

I say, Bring a Friend, Get a Gift.

Our company gives us FREE mini Southern Living Cookbooks, they're always a hit.

I had a show last night that was 9 women and$712 in sales. Because it's double rewards month, the hostess got $230 in free product and 2 half-price items. Then she got three bookings, so she was awareded 3 more half price items...talk about a steel.

I always stress the "Bring a Friend, Receive a Gift." I usually have anywhere from 3--5 "Friends" at every show and I give them a Southern Living Cookbook. (Yes, they are free with our Business Credits!)

Helps to have a motivated hostess! With Double Hostess dollars in January, mine are going crazy! Two $1000 shows with 7 more to go for the month!

I also ask my hostesses to call all their "guests" 1 to 2 days out. I give her a reason to call. Like... ask everybody to wear a scarf! Or... a hat... or whatever. Then she feels that she has to call them. Really works! Or... we have an "Evite" system through our personal websites, and a lot of my hostesses will use that too to remind her friends.

Hostess coaching is the key!
