Hi everyone, I wanted to see what other people do with their business. I just received all of my supplies, and wanted to know what you include when you hand out brochures ? And where do you hand them out ? Do you mail them to businesses or leads that you acquired ? I have postcards, brochures and my scent samples. I just havent contacted any salons to see if I could leave samples. I am trying to get the courage to do this.
Thanks for all of your help smileys/smiley17.gif

Hi Christina,
That is a wonderful question! In my brochures, I attach a price list and a sample baggie. I acutally use to pass them out to people when I ran errands but have not limited them to people that show interest in ordering or in the business. I use my busines cards from VistaPrint with samples attached to pass out now when doing errands.
I understand working up the courage to talk to people. I was hard for me at first. But you know what I realize, many people love something for FREE. Even if it is the samples.
Try doing one person a day! Asking them if you could give them something for free. And once you have mastered that move up to 2 or 3. It will definately get easier as time goes on. I believe you can do it!
Hope that helps you in some way!
Many Blessings,
Natalie

Hi Christina,
I mail out the brochures to leads along with 2 scent samples and a cover letter. Then 2 months later, I'll use the postcards in a drip campain.
I use the company business cards, available in the back office with the scent sample attatched. They are beautiful and in the long run, cheaper than vista print (if you are comparing prices by the 1,000).
I'm also gonna include some brochure in my binder for book parties. Jackie has post on how to do that here:
http://mmkellis.powerfulintentions.com/forum/topic/5295 (http://mmkellis.powerfulintentions.com/forum/topic/5295)
I'm not sure who your sponsor is, but most likely, you are a part of Jackie's group. She's got a ton of files of letters, business tips, etc. available there for you to download and customize with your contact info. Ask your sponor about getting in the group.
Best wishes in your newscent-sations businessbusiness!

I do like Natalie does - I provide a price listing (and note some scents that are now available but not shown on the scent list), and include a scent sample with a sticker that has the scent name - and another sticker that says "Join our Candle of the Month Club" or "Ask me about our Candle of the Month Club" - whichever I feel like doing at the time smileys/smiley36.gif
I also ALWAYS carry some with me and drop them off with folksas I do business around town "Would you mind if I left this with you? It has a free scent sample inside" and they usually OOOOH I love candles! (and start smelling the sample) - I just thank them and go about my business. No pressure there.

A good opener that has worked for me is "Do you like scented candles??" Of course they say yes, then I say "would you like a free sample?" and then another yes, then hand them the brochure -point out the page that lists the scents.
If it is someone I know, or see often, like the bank tellers, then I am going to start giving them votives because I know I will see them again.
Good luck! smileys/smiley32.gif

Hi Christina!
I use my brochures as my business cards. I staple a scent sample to the
page that lists the different scents, and have my re-order label on the
back
of the brochure with all of my contact info.
I always keep about 5 brochures in the diaper bag/my purse and take
them
with me everywhere I go. You'd be surprised the attention this generates
from people who ask "Is that YOU that smells so good?" smileys/smiley36.gif
The perfect opener for distributing samples & info- having people ask
ME!
Good luck growing your new business!

Great, I have alot of great ideas. Im just waiting for my little baggies to arrive. My daughter and I used the chopper and grated down tons of votive candles. It look like 1 minutes to make it soft and fine. wow what a difference then actually manually grating it with a grater.
Has anyone ever called home daycares to see if they were also interested in making extra money for their home business by doing a fundraiser ? I was going to look into this.
Any suggestions are welcome !! smileys/smiley1.gifsmileys/smiley1.gif
